Wisdom for practice

Wisdom is for practice, not for continuous speaking. If we keep on speaking about the Masters, the Rays, and the Hierarchies, we are only missing our duties for the present.

Wisdom is applied knowledge

Knowledge, when applied becomes wisdom. We gain a lot of knowledge, but it has to be applied in daily life, then it transforms itself into wisdom. Through wisdom we will experience the existence.

Wisdom spreads itself

We need not be anxious to spread the wisdom without working it with ourselves. It is a wrong understanding if one thinks that he can spread wisdom. Wisdom knows how to spread itself. It only needs channels.

The Son

Sons of God

Sons of God

The spirit needs a vehicle to express itself. This vehicle is the soul; it is an envelope for the spirit. Thus, God works through the individual soul to express his Love, Light, and Will. The individual soul is called the Son, the universal soul is the Father. The soul aspect in us is the Son of God. He is also called a Son of Light. Just as the light ray is always connected to the light as its origin and as there is no light ray without the light, each Son of Light is always inseparably associated with the source of Light. When the connection is interrupted, we may be called sons of men, but not Sons of Light.

When Jesus was asked, “Are you the Son of God?” He answered, “Yes, I AM the Son of God and you too.” The second part of the answer has been omitted, and thus, religion has distorted it. No knower would say, “I am a Son of God, but you are not.” Everyone is by their nature a Son of God. The only thing is that we forgot it. An initiate is the one who has entered into a transformation process through which he has realised that he is a Son of God. The son of man has become a Son of God. The man, who was earlier born in darkness, is born again in the Light. He is born a second time and thus, he is called the twice born.

The Process of Transformation

In human history, many sons of man have transformed into Sons of God. Their life is the message that every human being has the potential to transform into a Son of God. It is a prophecy which will also fulfil for us with time. Jesus fulfilled it with his life. Moses had changed after his experience on Mount Sinai. As he descended the mountain, his wife recognized the transformation.

The story of Hercules also portrays the process of transformation into a Son of God. When Hercules was still in the cradle, he killed his twin brother. This twin brother is nothing but the selfish personality. It is the shadow of the soul which is developed by the light of self-awareness. The personality subdues the soul and keeps it captive. In his search for the boar, Hercules got drunk and fell back into the animal state. In the story of Hercules' liberation of Prometheus, Prometheus stands for the heavenly man who is bound to matter and for whose salvation Hercules works. We have the potential to live free on the planet as pilgrims, but we have become prisoners and have forgotten the way back. The Bible calls this as the “lost son.”

Sons of Will and Yoga

The esoteric philosophy explains that we are monads that came to this planet as sons of the Sun. We are the same monads and continue to exist. In the early rounds of the earth these monads were no self-conscious beings, and their vehicles, the physical forms, only began to form slowly. In the second half of the Lemurian time, Sons of God came down to help the humans in their development. They are called by different names like Sons of Will and Yoga or Sons of Fire. In the Eastern wisdom, they are also called Manasa Putras, the mind-born sons of the Creator, the Kumaras. Literally Kumara means “Son of God”. Sanat Kumara is the head of those who descended from higher circles to stay on the planet and help humanity to ascend to the higher planes of existence. These Sons of God form the Inner Government of the planet, the Hierarchy prior to the Hierarchy that we know. The members of the Hierarchy we know today are all mortals who have become Sons of God. They understand our problems, our flaws, and shortcomings. They help us with compassion and they try to cooperate with us so that we can become Sons of God who return to the Father.

Sanat Kumara formed the foremost centre on the planet, the centre of Will, Shamballa. This secret place was an island lying in an inland lake extending over Central Asia, north of the Himalayas. Now it exists on the subtle plane in the Gobi desert. No one but the initiates can get there. But what exists in the Gobi desert is also implanted in our Sahasrara. Together with a group of accomplished beings, the Dhyanis, Sanat Kumara ensures the development of the mind. They have connected the soul with the body and the body with the soul. They made it possible for the beast-man to rise. They gave us the freedom of the will so that we can reach the goal of uniting with the Divine through our own effort. We have not yet developed our spiritual functions fully, and so the work is not yet complete.

Manifestation of the Light

Buddhi is the light of the soul, and the mind is the light of the personality. On its lower sub-planes the mind makes us self-conscious. On its higher sub-planes it can establish the connection to Buddhi, and Buddhi can act as discrimination. When both are united, the Kingdom of God is brought down, and God moves on earth as the Son of God. By chanting the Gayatri we want to align the mind with Buddhi. We pray that the light may descend into our mind so that our Buddhi is stimulated: “Dhiyo yo nah prachodayat”.

The manifestation of the Light takes place in a fourfold manner: from God it comes to the Sons of God, the Masters of Wisdom; from the Sons of God to the disciples, and from the disciples to the groups. God works through the Son of God. The Son of God works through his disciples to help the aspirants. The mind is the aspirant who aspires for divine things. Its transformation matures in secret.

When a man is transformed into a Son of God, he still looks the same to the outer world, but his inner being has changed. When a vessel that we used for salt for many years now contains sugar, we still feel that it is a salt vessel and we confuse it. When a person becomes a Master, and when the Master works through the body, this cannot be easily perceived because the outer envelope is the same. The outer world cannot perceive the inner transformations. Only those who have occult perception can recognize this. The world only sees the Son. The Occult Meditation No. 25 says that when the Father opens His eye in us, we no longer exist but only He exists. Father and Son become one.

As there is only one Father, all humans are brothers. But only one who has known himself as a Son of God sees the brother in the other. For all the others the brotherhood only remains an ideal and not a reality. The initiate, Son of God, feels nothing as his own property. Everything, including himself, belongs to the One. The souls and also the formations belong to the One. In this awareness, we cannot say, “This is my land; this is my house or my property.”

Jesus expressed this in a mystical formulation when he said that the Son of God has no place where he can lay his head. The Son of God lays his head within his heart centre. Akkalkot Maharaj, a great Indian incarnation, stayed mostly in the open, for the sky was his roof. Once a king asked the Son of God to come for a night to his palace which had a high roof. He led the Master into the palace and went away. In a flash, they saw the initiate on the dome of the palace. The king was astonished and asked him how he had come to the roof so quickly. The Master replied, “This is my nature, I cannot have a roof over me.”

For a Son of God, there is only one thing, and that is the truth. It is the one water in many vessels. Jesus made no difference whether a fisherman, a tax collector, a prostitute, or a priest came to him. When we are in the light, everything is light.

Sonship

A Master works through his disciples and thus gives birth to so many sons. This means that the disciples are born out of the Master's consciousness. The Master then no longer functions only through one body but through many bodies. The consciousness of the disciples and his consciousness have found an agreement. Only one consciousness prevails over the group as group consciousness.

Some disciples have a particularly close relationship with the Master. In the books given by Master Djwhal Khul, he writes that some of the disciples have the privilege of Sonship (see, among others, “Letters on Occult Meditation”, page 271). This relationship also exists with daughters. Master Morya and Master Kuthumi were very fond of Master Djwhal Khul who received special revelations. Jesus took special pleasure in John, and so John could receive revelations. Krishna was particularly fond of Arjuna and said to him, “I will reveal to you things that not even the devas know.” Krishna also liked Maitreya. Maitreya enjoyed the Sonship of his teacher Parasara as well, while Vedavyasa was Parasara’s natural son. These sons, born from out of the Teacher, are very dear and near to him.
