1. Spiritual Fusion of East & West

1. Qn. Can you show the way to experience GOD?

Ans. The way to experience God has been given time and again. I have been travelling upon the path as per the know-how given. There is slow and gradual unfoldment of awareness. I have also the glimpses of the experience. The fullness of it is called God. It is the path that needs to be experimented by everyone to experience God. God can be seen by such experiment. It cannot be shown by others. The path can however be given. It is available to all who are willing to take up and work with themselves. Apply the principles of the path upon you, walk upon and become that.

His smile gives the Energy. His presence creates the harmony and his teachings show the path.

He is none other than Mr. K. Parvathi Kumar, Global Chairman of the W. T. T., which was founded by Holy Master E.K. He is continuing Spiritual Fusion of East and West after the physical departure of Master E.K.

Recently Mr. Parvathi Kumar toured Switzerland, West Germany, Spain, Denmark, Austria and Italy etc., for 50 days. He returned on 4th July, after successful completion of his 8th Spiritual Tour to Europe.

2. Qn. What is the exact meaning of Spiritual Fusion of East and West?

Ans. To arrive at a common understanding relating to Spiritual practice and experience which is Scientific and practical and is not conditioned by the religions, cults and superstitions of East and West is what is understood as spiritual fusion of East and West. It enables man to understand and experience his own potentials fully and completely to overcome the barriers of traditions, cults etc. It is a process of intelligent understanding of the energies that are around and tuning up to them to fully experience living. East is strong in certain aspects of life. West is strong in certain other aspects. The Spiritual Fusion is aimed to bring the best of the both.

3. Qn. is there any constructive Plan for this work?

Ans: The Plan relating to Spiritual Fusion of East and West is being carried out in many ways and at many levels according to a ground Plan conceived by the elder brothers of humanity, whom we call the Masters of Wisdom. They have been functioning to promote greater understanding between various life styles on the Planet. They chiefly advocate Yoga of the body, spiritual living in preference to spiritual power and authority and Universal brotherhood in preference to the dogmas of God promoted by various cults. They have their initiates, advanced disciples and disciples through whom the Yoga of the mind, the spiritual living and the Universal brother-hood are being slowly and gradually established on the Planet. The path and the system relating thereto are given primary importance and those who know and give the, know how to others are called the Teachers. The head of these elder brothers of humanity, who is the Teacher of the Teachers is called 'THE WORLD TEACHER'. So the whole plan relating to Fusion of East and West is worked out under the direction of the World Teacher of the Planet who is also a disciple to a higher system for implementation of the Plan. The Plan relates evolution of the Planet and Planetary beings. All those who teach the system, function as true expression of the system. Their functioning itself is their teaching. Their teaching is only about the functioning of the system namely the human system, the planetary system, the solar system and cosmic system. When a spiritual aspirant practices according to a specified process in life, he falls into the system and thereafter functions in tune with the system. Man turns into a Master not by conquering the Nature but by adopting the Nature Divine. The Divine Will, Love and Light, which are the potentials of the micro and macro cosmos are taught to be realised in life through practice. All good work that promotes Love, understanding, relief from distress is part of this work.

4. Qn. What is the role of Master E.K. in this field?

Ans. Master E.K. is a multicut diamond who carried in him the mantle of love to kindle the hearts of the true aspirants. He strongly advocated that experiencing God or Spirit is possible through man's action which is based on the alignment of mind, senses and body to the Soul. It is the ancient most method followed at all times by the true seekers of the Truth. Master E. K. once again propounded the ancient method clothing it in new words. He is one of those inspired Souls. (Inspired into the systematic functioning by the Masters of Wisdom). Having tuned up to impersonal living, he became a potential channel for spread of such impersonal living to experience. The Divine on the physical plane, he promoted a triangular work relating to spiritual experiencing upon the basis of social and economic responsibilities. Man in fulfilling his economic and social obligations finds the right balance to experience the spirit.

He advocated and also demonstrated that service is a natural instinct of refined human being. Such a being does service as simply and naturally as mother caressing her children. Any sensible mother does not feel that she is doing service to her children. Likewise, any sensible elder brother of humanity does his lot to the younger brothers without claims and feelings. Such natural functioning has to be refound by man. Service according to him, is an attitude of mind but not a particular act. Master E.K. demonstrated such naturality and simplicity in work which others recognised as “Service and Sacrifice.” But to Him, it was natural functioning.

5. Qn. What is the World Teacher Trust doing in this regard?

Ans. The World Teacher Trust is an organisation of people, who are inspired by the life and teachings of Master E.K. They are attempting to live life in simplicity, naturality and love, taught and demonstrated by Master E.K, The World Teacher Trust brotherhood accepted a way of life which includes daily Meditations and Service as an attitude of mind while at work. The Trust organisers spread the impersonal teachings of Master E.K. and conduct functions on Important days to inform the public of the Teachings. The Trust works with significant responsibility in the field of education and health. It is organising schools for children to give the natural way of life besides the present education. It organises free Homoeo Dispensaries to heal the sick. It trains those who are interested in healing, Vedic chanting and Vedic rituals.

6. Qn. How far is it possible to achieve spiritual fusion of the East and West in the present human situations?

Ans. Spiritual Fusion of East and West is particularly favourable in the present situation, in these days of developed human mind, the Yoga of mind (Raja Yoga) is much more feasible. The Universality of life and the Universal applicability of its principles are easily understood by a fresh and simple mind not complicated by the dogmas of cults, sects and religion. The man feels fresh to make a direct experiencing of the Natural function system. He is already vexed with many dogmas, superstitions where faith is demanded. Faith can never be demanded. Blind and emotional faith leads no where. Intelligent understanding of the forces at work is the need of the hour. Man is willing to experiment upon a given system than to be directed and ordered with a certain mystical authority. As he finds the truth in the Natural system, faith develops in him and makes him to firmly hold to the system. As he finds that the system brings more and more harmony to him, his grip over the practice relating to the system grows. He therefore, practices and his practice is a demonstration for others and a sweet experience to him. Open minded people allover the Planet are at present more enthused to function with the system than with the personality of a Guru. They however respect the Guru as the inevitable channel.

7.Qn. What is the system that you have been frequently quoting in your answer?

Ans. It is nothing but practice of harmlessness in all aspects of life taught by every great teacher such as Lord Krishna, the Buddha and the Christ. It is demonstration of Love in action coupled with intelligent understanding of the functioning of subtler forces at the phenomenal plane. This becomes possible through gradual practice. This way of life is abundantly instructed in the Aphorisms of Patanjali Yoga. It is also skilfully depicted in the Bhagavad Gita. It has been there from times immemorial. It externalises through teachers who are impersonal i.e., not personality oriented. The system enunciates man's responsibility to the human, plant, animal, mineral and Deva Kingdoms. It is basically to understand the functioning of the micro-system (The Man) and the Macro-system (The Universe) and acts in tune with the system.

8. Qn. Please explain how are you introduced into this work and what are your functions in regard to fusion of East and West?

Ans. I am introduced into this work by Master E.K. I am asked to accompany Him in his Euro-tours of 1981, 1982 and 1983. During these tours, I understood the purpose of his visits to Europe. I also understood the technique of his teachings to European groups. I, therefore, gained enough strength to continue the work after his departure. We mainly work with Spiritual Groups who are inspired by the Universal Teachings and writings of Madam .H.P. Blavatsky, Madam Alice A. Bailey, Sri Aurobindo, : Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Sri Ramana Maharshi. The members of these groups are open-minded, workers willing to experiment Truth in their lives as propounded by the Teachers. I work with them in all the 7 European countries for two months in a year.

I am also working on the basis of foundation laid by Master E.K. for reconstruction of certain value systems in the European groups. They include education relating to sex, and marital life, family life and also education of teenagers of the human potentials and their proper utilisation. To exchange views and notes as also experiences relating to the teachings and annual group gathering of all European groups on the May Call Day i.e., 29th May every year. We live together 4 to 5 days around 29th May to formulate the Plan of work for the year to come. Doubts are clarified, suggestions are given in relation to the social and spiritual activities. My work also involves organising transcription of the Teachings of Master E.K. held in cassettes and publishing of booklets and books in that connection.

2. H.P. Blavatsky spreads Message of Vedas

Madam Helena Petrova Blavatsky was the first foreigner to discover the Universal wisdom of the Vedas and spread their message to the peoples of the world.

According to the Divine plan of Lord Sri Krishna, the World Teacher, five thousand years ago an invisible government was established in the Himalayas under the leadership of Lord Maitreya, with Master Morya and Master Kuthoomi as his lieutenants and Master Djwalkhul as the chief co-ordinator. The purpose of this government is to work in the subtler planes and pave the way for planetary synthesis and world transformation.

Mr. K. Parvathi Kumar spoke on these lines in his address as the Global Chairman at the function organised by the World Teacher Trust on August 11 to mark the 156th birthday of Madam Blavatsky and the 62nd Birthday of Holy Master E.K.

Madam Blavatsky revealed this secret to humanity in the last century with the permission of the Masters. To align herself to their programme, she, though of royal parentage, gave up the pomp and pagentries and dedicated herself to the cause of truth. With leonine courage and sterling faith in the Masters, she unremittingly addressed herself to the task of spiritual awakening of mankind.

Such was her total surrender and so untiring her work that Master Djwalkhul's revelation, A TREATISE ON COSMIC FIRE, which was received by Alice A. Bailey, was dedicated to her. Here is a rare instance of a Master dedicating his work to his disciple.

The great contribution of Madam Blavatsky was in the direction of unveiling the wisdom of the East to the gaze of the West and bringing the East and West together. She declared, in accents of urgency and utmost personal conviction, that to consider any particular religion superior to others and to carry on propaganda that all those who do not embrace that particular religion are sinners in the height of egoistic folly. Such an attitude militates against true spirituality and makes the life divine a distant dream.

With a view to giving a shape to her institutions and inner intimations and for working out her programme, she founded the Theosophical Society. She affirmed that sacred texts like the Vedas, the Gita, the Bible, the Ramayana and the Mahabharata are repositories of the wisdom of the universe and manuals for spiritual sadhana. Her Golden Stairs enable the aspirant to climb the temple of Divine Wisdom. It was thus a life of sacrifice and stupendous spiritual work that madam Blavatsky lived.

E.K. AN IDEAL MASTER:

Coming now to Master EK, who belongs to our times, one finds that he is yet another glorious link in the chain of Masters. He made a total offering of his life, his time, energy and wisdom to the Masters and strove for realising of their design. He affirmed that the truths of world scriptures are to be lived. He insisted that one should try on oneself any principle that one wished to try on the society. He practised in his own life what he preached. He gave a socio-economic basis for spiritual living.

The task of the fusion of the East and West, begun by Madam Blavatsky was continued by Master E.K. His seven extensive foreign tours were aimed at this.

3. Meditation of Lord Vishnu, Vasudeva and Narayana

“VISHNU SAHASRANAMA” the thousand Names of the Lord, is the quintessence of the Ancient Indian Thought.

Vishnu - the light that permeates from the seeming nothingness to apparent something as creation is worshipped as the Lord of the past, the present and the future of the existence. The Vedic seers visualised the phenomenon called the creation sprouting from the subtlest to the grossest in layers and the broadest of such division is the three fold existence of Matter, Force and Consciousness. These planes of existence are symbolically called as Vishnu, Vasudeva and Narayana -meaning, all that appears in shape, colour, number etc., is Vishnu, all that exists as the Centre or as the indweller of a unit consciousness from atom to man is Vasudeva and the universal consciousness, which is the one background of the units of consciousness is Narayana.

Mr. Kambhampati Parvathi Kumar, Global Chairman of the World Teacher Trust gave a discourse recently to the sadhakas about the process of 'Upasana' from the Vishnu Sahasranama in the head quarters of the W.T.T: He spoke continuously and sweetly with smile and ease.

The Vedic seers recognised as Vishnu all that exists as matter and apparent to the physical eye. To them Vishnu is the permeation or pervasion of that one light. They worshipped all forms, shapes, colours etc, as the manifestations of the one Lord. Worshipping a form in exclusion of others is ignorance and leads an aspirant nowhere. Experiencing the Lord Vishnu is possible only by invoking him as everything apparent to the eye. “SARVAKARAM VISHNUMAVAHAYAMI” a popular Sloka uttered forth in every Vedic ritual is a pointer to this truth. This is the basic and the fundamental step towards realisation of the Truth whom we call 'God'. It is only the ignorance of this Truth that leads to multifacious religions and cults. They educate man as to how he is different from others in terms of race, creed, caste and colour. The Vedic thought is to allow man to understand as to how he is common with others. The former system is divisive, while the latter is unifying. The former is negative in its approach and leads to separation while the latter is synthetic in its approach and leads to liberation from the mental conditioning.

Similarly the indweller of every unit of existence is recognised, realised and worshipped as Vasudeva. The existence of the Lord as everything is Vishnu while the existence of Lord in every-thing is Vasudeva. An aspirant who mastered experiencing the Lord as everything in creation transforms himself into an initiate to whom the next step is realisation of the Lord in everything. When he attains the first step he is said to have done Vishnupasana (meditation of Vishnu). When he attains the second step he is said to have successfully carried out Vasudevopasana (meditation of Vasudeva). In the second step the man meditates every given situation as the interplay of the force outside with the individual force inside. Through the balancing of the force, he escapes into his own centre, shedding the personality. With the first step he transcends the Illusion of matter and with the second step he transcends the Illusion of force, which are both negative and positive. When he thus attains the third step, he is the man turned Master-meaning the one that mastered the matter and force. Mastery does not mean conquering. Controlling or subduing as is normally understood but means intelligent balancing. In other words it is called alignment of matter and force with consciousness within and outside.

The sacred scripture Bhagavata repeatedly postulates these three steps of initiation. It has no religious propagation but has only the spiritual instruction given out in simple and straight way.

Subtle as it is, the busy intellectual mind that craves for complications is apt to miss the fundamentals.

The author of Srimad Bhagavatham as also Sri Mahabharata, Veda Vyasa (a contemporary to Lord Krishna) gave out as one of the many invaluable gifts the Vishnu Sahasranama which hints at many a secret of the phenomenon of creation, packed in the names of the Lord. Each name has its significance and is used to denote the phenomenon in anyone of the three planes, the matter, force and consciousness.

Kulapathi Ekkirala Krishnamacharya unlocked and gave out the significance of each of the 1000 names, utilising the spiritual keys viz., the Etymological, Astrological and Time keys. The author popularly known as Master E K to his followers in the East and the West has been an excellent example of the one who fulfilled in himself and a few of his followers, the meditation of Vishnu and Vasudeva, as described in the preceding paras.

The importance of recital of the 1000 names is too well known to be elaborated. The intelligent understanding of the names in the light of the Vedic thought helps the reader a long way in reaching the goal in spiritual pursuit.

4. Science of Time

UGAADI, the Telugu New Years Day, is in fact YUGA-ADI meaning the beginning of a Cycle. The Telugu New years Day is an Astrologically significant event in the Cycle of Time.

The Ancients knew well the dimensions of the Time. They have accordingly tuned up to the aspects of the time and derived full experience of life. Blessed is the one, who can tune up to Time and carry out the work skilfully for fulfilment. Incorrect timing is fraught with many hurdles. Time, Energy and Money are lost when the timing of a task is incorrect. To set the sail according to the wind is a wise act. The Masters of Wisdom mastered this sail resulting in a smooth experience of Life. Only the ignorant are unwilling to respond to the aspects of Time calling it superstition. The learned ones always respect Time, understood its dimensions, the variety of energies it presents, and worked in tune with Time to gain the sweet experience, which is the main purpose of Life.

On the New Year's Day the Telugus accept with pleasure a recipe which includes all tastes from bitter to sweet and from hot to sour. This is indicative of man's preparation to accept the sweet and the bitter events of life during the year. Ability to accept these events as they occur in life and to intelligently work with them is what is commanded, inability to accept events in life and developing resistance causes internal tension. The pleasure with which the recipe of all tastes is eaten is indicative of this acceptance of the variety of events in life. Total acceptance of life keeps the man in total happiness. “KRISHNA” accepted life totally. Hence he is the only one who had been happy through and through and spread happiness at all times regardless of the internal events. The clue to happiness is internal acceptability and intelligent action according to the situation.

Another truth relating to the Telugu New Year's Day is that it carries the energies of the year to come and hence is capable of hinting at the events to come throughout a year. The Planetary position on the Day is the seed that unfolds itself throughout the year into a big tree. If one understands the quality of the seed, It is easy to understand the quality of the tree and the quality of the fruits it bears. Hence “Panchanga Sravanam” a popular function that is conducted on the “Ugaadi Day” is a scientific explanation of the seed of the year for the benefit of those who wish to tune up to the Science of Time.

The first 15 days from the Telugu New Year's Day are particularly significant in terms of health. Ayurveda speaks of a practice to restore health utilising the first 15 days from the New Year's day. If one remains on a balanced diet for these 15 days of the year (preferably liquids), It assures us good health throughout the year. The clue is well worked out by Ayurveda. The Seers worked out reconstruction of the tissues of the body with new energies of the New Cycle through the nutritious and balanced diet during the first 15 days of the year. It is a Science by itself and needs to be worked out by oneself to find the truth of it.

Many and manifold are the splendours of the Telugu New Year's Day. The good beginning is half done. May the Telugus as also the members of the human society to whom the Planetary combination extends, derive the benefit of the energies of the New Year's Day throughout with proper tune up.

5. Principal Teachings of Lord Krishna

The main teachings of Lord Krishna relate to the eternal existence of the one consciousness. His first teaching is to clear the misunderstanding of death. Krishna speaks that no one really dies. There is no such thing as death. He says that there is eternal existence upon which there is periodical springing up of the Universe and in the Universe we keep existing eternally through out the span of the Universe.

Mr. Parvathi Kumar gave at the headquarters of the World Teacher Trust (Jagadguru Peetam) in Visakhapatnam a discourse about the principal teachings of Lord Krishna to some Europeans.

He explained in simple words and in a lucid form the four concepts in the teaching of Lord Krishna. Mr. Kumar's way of teaching is easily understandable and enables one to follow the path taught by Lord Krishna and also to , experience in daily life as a human being.

Mr. Parvathi Kumar's experiences with the Gita are as follows:

When Universe is absorbed into the One Existence we are also absorbed into it, when it is blown out into universe we all come into existence. So our little spans are not so little as understood. As soul we continue to exist and Krishna wants us to understand the soul and the vehicle of our constitution and the soul carrying the spirit, the soul and the body - these are the three aspects which Krishna speaks of. The body keeps changing because it is of matter, the soul is composed of the spirit and the superfine matter which is as eternal as consciousness, that is what we call as the etheric body. All gross matter springs up from the superfine matter (primordial matter) which is made up of ether. So the permanence of the spirit and the permanence of this matter during the existence of the universe is what Krishna pro- poses. And Krishna says this soul is impermeable of matter, water, fire and air and exist as long as the Universe is in existence and hence there is no such thing as birth and there is no such thing as death, if you understand the concept correctly.

The basic fundamental teaching of the concept of birth and death is attributed as any of the events that are happening in life, our getting into sleep and getting out of sleep is also an aspect of birth and death and we continue to exist through the sleep. Similarly our living through the four stages namely, infancy, youth, adult and old age, is experienced as one living. There is no experiencing of the death of one stage and the birth of the other stage. in the same fashion through birth and death we continue to exist, that is why Krishna argues that one who understands this clue lives through the death. To him, there is no such thing as death.

Krishna speaks of the quality of the soul, the soul as the owner of the form and that the owner is never killed in the body, while the form keeps changing. There is no cause for sorrow when existence is eternal. The first step therefore, is to understand that we exist eternally as source.

Then, what are we to do? That comes as the second step which is to tune up to the Law of the Universe. When we tune up to the law of the Universe then we are in harmony with the Universe. When we do not tune up to the Law of the Universe we do not remain so much in harmony. All our conflicts, enigmas and problems of life arise out of our ill-comprehension of the law and our inability to tune up to the law. So the moment we tune up and work with the law then the whole eternal existence is experienced as a splendour. This is a second step - says Krishna.

The third step, Krishna says - each one of us has a nature peculiar to ourself. According to the nature we hold, we have to choose the kind of work that will keep us in harmony and keep working with that kind of work so that the harmony is established at all time. Never imitate or copy the nature of others, because even if it is a greater one it does not give harmony to us. That which gives us harmony we should be able to follow. It is like a cat trying to imitate a tiger. Cat is a Cat -Tiger is a Tiger. It is good for the tiger to be tiger like and for the cat to be cat like, if the cat imitates a tiger it can not live happily.

One has to make an understanding of the quality of work that keeps him in harmony and perceive the same to be in harmony at all times. One must try to get into that quality more and more. And Krishna explains the quality of a teacher, the quality of a ruler, the quality of a businessman and the quality of those who serve. Among these four qualities that which really suits us we have to work with. One would have no complaints when one has tuned up to the work accordingly to the soul quality. So this is what we have to do, to tune up the quality of the soul so that the soul can function through. As between the teacher, the ruler, the businessman and the social worker there is no such distinction as more sacred and less sacred and all work carried out through the four qualities is sacred. This truth can be under- stood when one harmonises his nature with himself. There are many great adepts who are functioning in all the four qualities of life. As between them there is no feeling as low and high. There is only a feeling of 'one for the other' brotherhood.

It is only the ignorant who see the high and low as between the qualities and each one competes for that which they ignorantly consider high. The scriptures reveal that from the butcher to the ruler and from the businessman to the teacher all are equally important to the society and all can tune up to the eternal existence by the dedication to their respective works. The clue is to harmonise the quality of nature that one holds so that he becomes stable of Consciousness. It is necessary to be stable of Consciousness, be it through teaching, healing, administering or through any other means of service to society. Any of the four qualities when pursued according to one's own nature leads to stability. Krishna says that stability of Consciousness is attained only by tuning up one's own nature but not by imitating others nature unless such other is also of the same quality. Initiates exist in all walks of life. They are not restricted to preachers or teachers. It is for this reason the Veda describes that “The Teachers are My head, The Rulers are My shoulders, The Businessmen are My thighs and the others are My feet”. In the whole body all organs are equally important and no organ can imitate the other. But can do its job for the benefit of itself and for the benefit of the whole.

The fourth step is about how to tune up the individual nature with nature divine and there comes the importance of functioning. Krishna speaks that happiness or unhappiness, profit or loss, comfort or discomfort do not exist the moment you are tuned up to the Law through function as per your nature. When individual nature is harmonised through a right functioning through selection of a work which is harmonious to your nature, then it is so absorbing, so interesting, so lovable to you that you do not care about the comfort or discomfort of it, the happiness or unhappiness of it or the profit or loss, they do not exist. And then, Krishna says that you will slowly realise that this way to function is to live.

The functioning has its own details of steps and it has to be worked out with discriminative will and how to work without motive and without aspiring for result and how in work there is experiencing regardless of comfort, discomfort, happiness, unhappiness, profit or loss.

Krishna then speaks about the philosophers who think that all work is for result and how foolish they are in their understanding of the work. Then he speaks of those who foolishly try to possess and how possession will create complications in life. And then he speaks about the natural distortion that takes place in understanding the system according to one's own impurity of the vehicle. The best wisdom given is refracted according to one's own quality. So that is what Krishna cautions and then says, the need to work more and more with discriminative will and only do, that, much which is required. Never overdo or underdo a thing and only do as much as you have to do without concerning yourself with the result and without yourself being the motive of any deed and without making any beginning from your side of any act.

This is the ultimate of all action, which one has to understand practising step after step. No one can think of doing anything relating to the last step namely let no deed start from you, Let no deed start from you is the state of Christ It can be the state of ordinary spiritual practitioners. He should first start functioning with what exactly he is required to do. He must know what to speak how to speak, when to speak and how much to speak. He must know in the same fashion how to act, how much to act, where to act and where not to act, So, speech -action these are to be learned first and then the ability to remain impersonal in action is to be learned and then the step will come relating to action being happening and nothing starts from him because It has already started in the beginning of the creation and he is not anyone to begin anything as it is already existing. So these steps have to be carefully worked out and at the same time do no seek comfort in not doing. The teaching of Krishna calls for action and not for seeking comfort in inaction. This is the core of all doctrines of action and it requires an excellent understanding and it has to be worked out for lifetime. We have to check up whether we are speaking and acting according to requirement or under doing or overdoing, that is where the whole thing is filtered and only a handful will remain over and above that and those are the Masters.

So we have to be unconcerned about the results. Any thing we do we need results. But, the doctrine says, to experience action you should be unconcerned about results and then do not carry any motive.

The Doctrine of Action calls for action and that action is of two types. Action for one's own benefit and action for the benefit of others. If one observes Nature keenly the clue is found that one works for the other. The whole wheel of creation is based on this clue and hence it is time that Man should shut himself in pursuit and start working for the benefit of others. This is the way to mastery and this is the only way to experience the often used (or abused) words like - God, Love, Light, Christ, Krishna etc. when one works with discriminative will for the benefit of others, there is no such thing as attachment and he explains the doctrine of attachment.

According to Krishna attachment or detachment is more mental than physical. He laughs at those who are physically detached without being mentally detached. He admires those who seem to be entangled in the worldly affairs but are mentally detached. The mentally detached and physically active souls are the real instruments of God while the physically detached are lesser instruments. The one who is stable in consciousness exists only to consciousness whether or not he is surrounded by persons, places, things, articles etc.

Then Krishna explains how one functions if he is very stable in conscious state, as an example Krishna narrates the quality of stable one.

“No agitation by sorrow, no desire for happiness, no craving, no shirking, no outbursts -His consciousness is stable. He is figuratively called Silent”,

“No particular attachment anywhere, no particular enjoyment for the pleasant, no particular hatred for the so called undesirable”,

“He recedes into himself, His senses calmly recede from the object. The process is like that of a tortoise withdrawing its limbs into its shell. Then his consciousness is stable”.

“But beware I Do not make your senses starve of its objects” Starvation is no withdrawal. The objects are away from the senses but they leave their seeds of craving in the senses only to be germinated again with redoubled vigour. This is the result of starving, Withdrawal is quite different. It is the fine process of leaving the lower taste by tasting the higher.“

“Arrange everything in you to obey the I AM in you. Then you live clear in your own I AM even though objects apply themselves to the senses.”

“This clarity is the pure state in which sorrows have no place. Will stands only on this pure background.”

'Will makes its appearance out of your own synthesis. No synthesis, no will and no creative ability. No peace without creative ability. Create peace, What of happiness when there is no peace?”

“Then the senses blow like winds in all directions - they drive the mind as the feeble ship. Then the consciousness is at the mercy of the stormy tide of life”.

“Have your senses withdrawn from their objectives to live above them. Then only consciousness is stable”.

“Visualise the rotation of the earth globe. Some sleep into the night while others work awake in the day. Similarly some are aware in the activity of the senses with the mind. Will and stability of consciousness do not exist to them. To them it is sleep. But those who are controlled are awakened to Will and Stability. To them it is day. To them the mind, the senses and their objective exist in sleep.”

“They do not want anything. Requirements come and approach them, flow into them as and when required and finally merging them. See how rivers approach the ocean, flow into it loosing and finally merge into it loosing their nature. Even being filled the ocean stands stable and has no change in its level. Such a one experiences what is peace. One who desires can never experience peace”.

“Thus man should leave of all his desire and act without desiring. He should be I AM. No local localisation of I AM, no mine I Such a one can achieve peace.

Localisation of I AM results in limiting the consciousness which causes separation of the oneself. This in turn triggers all illusion and ignorance.

“This is the creative state required. Once achieved this, no one is confused. If one can stand the stage even while one dies (while the mind disappears) one attains the experience of creative merging.

So if we keep looking into this checklist how stable we are, we know for ourselves, we do not need others to tell us, so this is how the whole scheme is.

6. Significance of the Vaisakha Festival

FOURFOLD EXISTENCE: Sanat Kumara, the Planetary Logos, gives the annual impulse to the beings on this Earth on the fullmoon day of Vaisakha. Sanaka, Sanandana, Sanatana and Sanat Kumara are the names conceived for the Lord in the Supracosmic, Cosmic, Solar and Planetary Planes. Existence is fourfold. Time is fourfold. Wisdom is fourfold. The Veda is four-fold, the qualities are fourfold, and the utterance is fourfold. Indeed the very Universe exists upon the principle of number 4- so says the Veda.

Master E.K., the founder of WTT, conducted fullmoon meditations with his followers for many years in Visakhapatnam and gave a new dimension in the New Age to practice the fullmoon meditations.

Mr. K. Parvathi Kumar now continues this sacred work. On the auspicious occasion of Vaisakha Festival Mr. Parvathi Kumar has given a discourse on scientific basis to those, who attend the fullmoon meditations.

SCIENTIFIC APPROACH:

Existence, awareness of existence, thoughtful existence and objective existence are symbolised by the four names, popularly known as the 4 Kumaras stated above. In another system, the same fourfold existence is represented as the 4. Vyuhas, i.e. Vasudeva, Sankarshana, Pradyumna and Aniruddha Vyuhas. In the astrological system these four are explained as the fixed cross of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. In the Christian Theology the same fourfold existence is explained in the Book of Revelations by John as the four horsemen. In the Shalva system the same is explained by names such as Parama Siva, Siva, Sambasiva and Sankara. Vaisakha, Muruga, Sarvanabhava and Lord Subrahmanya are also the names relating this four fold aspect. Thus from ancient most times the four fold existence has been conceived by the enlightened men. The scientific terms used today are Atomic consciousness, Self-consciousness, Group consciousness and Universal consciousness.

Supracosmic, Cosmic, Solar and Planetary Consciousness are recognised not only as to their existence but also as to their purpose in creation. The Vaisakha-Festival is carried out at the planetary plane by the Planetary logos and the enlightened beings of the Earth during the fullmoon hours of Vaisakha.

THE PLANETARY PLAN:

On this day the Planetary Consciousness gives an impulse to the planetary beings who are within its gravitational system. The Impulse is given as per the planetary plan and is conceived by the enlightened ones on the planet, whom we popularly call the Masters of Wisdom. Intuitionally conceiving the plan of the year the Wise ones gradually radiate the same into their disciples who in turn transmit the same to the foremost thinkers / leaders of Humanity. The leaders guide the plan into the daily activity within the constraints.

Thus once again the working out of the planetary annual plan is done through a four-tier system namely:

  1. The Planetary Logos, Sanat Kumara;
  2. The Masters of Wisdom, the head of whom is recognised as Lord Maitreya by the Hindus, Lord Maitre Buddha by the Buddhists and as Lord Christ by the Christians;
  3. The disciples of these Masters of Wisdom, and
  4. their disciples who are objectively known as the leaders of human society.

BUDDHA POORNIMA:

Gautama the Buddha acts as the link between the Planetary Logos Sanat Kumara and the Masters of Wisdom. Hence the Vaisakha Fullmoon gradually came to be recognised as Buddha Poornima. It is very much similar to the corporate organisation with its four-tier function of

1) The Directors; 2) The Executives; 3) The supervisors and 4) The Workers

SHAM BALLA:

The impulse comes from the centre called Shamballa, located on the northern side of the sacred Himalayan range, which is said to be the abode of Planetary Logos. It is very interesting to note that the Bhagavatha Purana speaks of the village Shamballa as the place from which the 10th Avatar Kalki will descend. The impulse is conceived in the Central Himalayan Range which is the Headquarters of the Masters, known by the name Kalapa (which is also referred to in Bhagavatha Purana) There are six other centres of the Masters upon the planet namely Geneva, London, New York, Tokyo, Darjeeling and a place in Africa. It is believed that these centres are the present day Ashrams of the Masters of Wisdom. The destiny of the planetary beings is guided with responsibility from these centres.

THE VAISAKHA VALLEY:

During the Fullmoon hours of Vaisakha all the Masters of Wisdom and their accepted disciples gather in the Central Himalayan Range in a Valley called “The Vaisakha Valley”. It is akin to the annual general body meeting, wherein the plan for the year is conceived (but not discussed as there is no such scope or necessity) by the responsible elder brothers of Humanity. And through Gemini fullmoon they in turn transmit it (1) to the thinkers and leaders of the human society (2) to the animal kingdom, (3) to the plant kingdom and (4) to the mineral kingdom. The 4 kingdoms represent the fourfold existence of the planetary beings. Such a system or organised functioning is in existence from times immemorial which gradually came to be known as Maha Vaisakhi and later as Buddha Poornima. It is very interesting coincidence that Visakhapatnam also carries the same sound syllables and that there is a Visakha -Eswara Temple in the Seawaters on the coast of the town. Those who are intuitional can work out the correspondence according to the purity of thought they hold.

FULLMOON MEDITATION:

Meditation during the fullmoon hours of the day would do much good to the mind, senses and body -in the sense that alignment can be easily worked out in between these three implements by the Soul through the co-operative and magnetic energies of the Time. Those who are inclined to such meditation are strongly recommended to remind with light food and to abstain from too much objective activity from the day before the full moon. The ones whose body, mind and senses are aligned through purity in thought, speech and action. Gain and scope to experience the Grand annual meeting held at Vaisakha Valley through the etheric permeation (travel).

7. Cecle of Time Begins Afresh

“Kartika Poornima” marks a reversal of the trend of events and hence is considered a fresh beginning in the cycle of Time, according to Mr. K. Parvathi Kumar, Global Chairman of the World Teacher Trust.

Mr. Parvathi Kumar in a discourse given in Visakhapatnam on the significance of 'Kartika Poornima' with the astrological key, says:

In the creational process there comes a point where the physical world manifests from the astral - the birth of earth and the earth marked by the descent of the Serpent from the Arc and the coats of skin acquired by the man and the woman (Adam & Eve) as mentioned in the Holy Bible. The sex difference takes place and the spirit lies hidden within the matter. After aeons of time the spirit returns in its higher and subtler spheres in a spirallic fashion and matter gives way which is understood as evolution, while the descent of spirit is understood as involution.

The spirallic evolution of spirit from matter is marked by the constellation “Anuradha” (the spiral ritual). This return of spirit or spiritual evolution is described as a process of resurrection from death meaning triumph of spirit over matter. Every spiritualist demonstrates this resurrection from death. In recent times we find this being done by Jesus, Saibaba of Shirdi, Master CVV of Kumbhakonam among others. This is marked as a higher initiation when man turns Master - i.e. gains mastery over matter.

In every solar year this opportunity for the resurrection is offered to man by Scorpio full moon -Kartika Poornima, when the Sun is in Scorpio and the Moon is in the constellation “Krittika” Pleiades.

Bogged down by matter, passion, sex attraction the physical world is considered to be an imperfect reflection of the perfect higher subtle world. The puranic symbolism reveals that before the physical manifestation of the present world, the solar year consisted of only 10 zodiacal signs with Virgo-Scorpio as one of the ten, while Libra did not form. Later when Libra was formed it was through division of Virgo- Scorpio into three signs that is Virgo, Libra and Scorpio, thereby manifesting the 12 signs. This is also true with the human body, which is a perfect image of the Universe. Till 7 years of age there is no sex division in the body mechanism of a boy or a girl. Slowly, changes take place during the period of 7 years to 14 years manifesting the sexual difference and relates passion - activity of Libra.

Overcoming the sexual attraction and passion, man has to gain his original form “due and ancient form”, when the perfect man is born once again.

Kartika Poornima offers such opportunity to those who seek perfection.

8. Significance of Dasara

The Dasara festival is celebrated all over India. Indian festivals are not intended only for celebration. Celebrations are incidental. There is a deeper meaning for all Indian festivals. They are conceived by the Masters of Wisdom for the benefit of humanity.

As time passed by, the average Indian forgot the meaning and purpose of the festivals and reduced the festivals for indulgence in food, clothing and other luxurious and meaningless spending. Consequently, there is ridicule of the festivals by rationalists, said Mr. Kambhampati Parvathi Kumar at the head- quarters of the World Teacher Trust Visakhapatnam.

The ancient seers conceived the energy patterns that affect the Earth and earthy beings as our planet moves around the Sun in 12 solar months. Each month offers different energies and the angles of Moon further stimulate these energies. The ancients knew these energy patterns and accordingly invoked them on time, tuned up to them and lived in harmony with the nature. These keys are lost due to over emphasis laid on the physical world in preference to the metaphysical aspects of the physical world. Man once again has to find them to bring forth harmony within and without. The present human crisis is a typical example of loss of wisdom.

Mr. Parvathi Kumar, who was explaining the significance of the festival said, the month of Libra stands for beauty in form to those who carry average understanding. It stands for beauty without (beyond) form to those who are knowledgeable. Man is so engrossed in the physical that he cannot imagine that beauty exists beyond form. His identity with form is lop-sided.

The beauty in form is temporary and is affected by time. The beauty beyond form is eternal and is not affected by time. The man who is gripped-by beauty in form travels towards passion. Normal astrology speaks much of the passion of Libra. The attraction towards the opposite sex is also marked by the 7th Solar month.

But to a man on spiritual path it makes possible wedding with the divine i.e., the Super Soul, which is represented as the mother Divine, the Beauty and Love beyond form. Meditation upon the Mother as we enter into the month of Libra helps overcoming individual passions and experiencing the eternal beauty of the Mother.

Venus, the ruler of Libra, works equally with the slave of passion and the aspirant of truth according to their inclinations.

The slave of passion is conditioned by the Solar Plexus centre (Manipuraka Chakra). His passions drive him mad. Ravana. Kamsa. Duryodhana and the like are conditioned by this ten-spoked Chakra. They worked out their own destruction. The spiritual student (the Seeker of Truth) carefully overcomes the passions through the worship of the mother. The Mahisha in him is killed and the aspirant emerges as a son of God. The Manipuraka 'Chakra' gives way to the Manipuraka 'Padma'. Chakra represents the cyclic, conditioned movement while the 'Padma' represents unfoldment into greater life. When the unfoldment takes place, the Man rises into the Heart Centre where Love (Beauty) is experienced eternally. A man thus becomes Master.

The nine-day ritual helps the seeker of the Truth to over- come the conditioning of the eight-fold Nature and establish himself in the 9th which is the numerical potency of the Super Soul (Universal Consciousness).

Such is the purpose of the Dasara Ritual. May the Mother Divine bless the humanity into such wisdom in due course.

9. Christ, Symbol of Universal Love

UNIVERSAL CHRIST:

The creation is governed by the triangular forces of creativity, continuity and culmination. The triangular forces act upon a Background Existence. It is from this Eternal Existence that there is the periodical emergence and merger of creation. During the existence of creation, the Background Existence functions as the cementing principle that binds the solar systems, the beings and the planets together. It is called the Universal Soul, the Super-Soul, the Viswatman, the Universal Love, Vishnu, 2nd Logos, Crestos or Christ.

Mr. Parvathi Kumar gave a special discourse about Jesus the Christ, at the premises of the W. T. T., Visakhapatnam.

In creation the triangular forces act in equilibrium. The forces of creativity and culmination act in such coordination, to bring in the apparent existence. The perfect balancing of the two forces during their interplay gives birth to the third, namely, the continuum or poise or equilibrium.

HIS BIRTH:

Likewise in man when the forces of dynamism and inertia are perfectly balanced there is the birth of undisturbed equilibrium, poise, or peace. Any disturbance to one of the two forces results in disturbance of equilibrium. An undisturbed mind is
Presentative of that state of undisturbed nature of forces. Mind is normally disturbed or polluted by forces of Jealousy, anger, agitation, hatred, desire, pride and prejudice. But through a scientific approach when a man's mind is trained to transcend these negative forces, it attains the undisturbed and unpolluted state of poise. Such mind is called Virgin. Lady Mary carried such pure mind to give birth to Christ and hence is called the virgin.

LOVE PRINCIPLE:

Universal Love when embodied it is called the birth of Christ. In the East it is understood as incarnation of the Lord of Love namely Vishnu. Such embodiment happens periodically at a chosen place and time according to the need. The need is establishment of poise through adjustment of forces that pose threat to disturbance. Each time mankind is disturbed out of its balance through Ignorance, the Lord of Love descends once again to give 'the way of life' those who follow the way find life as an inimitable source of splendour and fulfilment. Those who propagate without following it, more often con- fuse themselves and others.

The birth of Christ as Jesus is one of such events when Love got embodied. He once again propagated (through demonstration in his life) the Divine Love that cemented together a thief, a prostitute, a tax collector, a fisherman and others. He demonstrated through his acts that there is no power higher than Love. In Love all culminate and life is at Harmony. Love breeds no contempt, no competition, no hatred. Where there is acceptance, there is Love. Where there is resistance there is no Love. In Love, Service and Sacrifice as acts are carried effortlessly. When Love is absent, Service and Sacrifice breed pride self-aggrandisement, competition and separativeness. Love is inclusive and it does not exclude anything from it. Love does not demand. A Love that demands is emotional and selfish and hence is not true Love. It is easily spoken than realise. Love of something is also not Love-pure. Love for the sake of Love is what a Master demonstrates. Christ demonstrated such Love to those who crucified him. He therefore stands out as an example to human beings who propose to practise love in life.

RE-APPEARANCE:

Christ lives eternally and is embodied periodically as per the need. Unfortunately people do not see him when he is in body. More often they see the body but not Him. Hence only the frame and name of the frame is left as a corpse to those who follow the envelope in preference to the Love that is enveloped.

Every demonstration of Love and Tolerance through any body is nothing but manifestation of Christ himself. Those who have eyes can see him in this way in daily life. Hear him in this way. Those who are attached to the frames, the envelopes, fail to see him even when he is amidst of them. These are the ignorant lot who wait thousands of years expecting the re-appearance of light through a fused bulb, while light is manifest through variety of new bulbs.

Christ manifests through many forms just as every fit instrument can receive and transmit light. He is like the ocean that reaches the sands through the waves. The ocean is in continuous touch with the sands through the waves. Each wave is nothing but ocean embodied to reach the sands.

To expect a wave of yester year is to expect the ocean but not to expect the self same wave. The latter is ignorance. The former is wisdom.

May the appearance and reappearance of Christ thus be eternal as in truth he is eternal while his forms are temporary.

10. West Approaches East

1. Qn. What is Spiritualism?

Ans. The science of Spirit is called spiritualism. It explains the interplay of the spirit and matter and the resultant creation. It also deals with the basis of all that is and how it is becoming.

The written message of Holy Master E.K. on August 11, 1981 to his disciple, Mr. K. Parvathi Kumar: “I know that you can manage the situation without any change in vibration”, came into light now. The Will of the Master is experienced by many seekers in East and West and now they are feeling the same vibration.

The Mayor of Visakhapatnam, Mr. D. V. Subba Rio, expressed that “Parvathi Kumar is very much younger to me, but he is born with a divine purpose”. It is being realised by the people of Goodwill.

Mr. Parvathi Kumar, is continuing the work, “Spiritual Fusion of East and West” after the physical departure of Master E.K. Recently Mr. Parvathi Kumar toured Europe for 40 days and returned on July 7, after fruitful completion of his 9th tour.

2. Qn. What is the Spiritual fusion of East and West you are attempting at?

Ans. The spirit is the same. The Sun light is the same be it in the East or in the West. It is the same spirit that one experiences as the one Truth when one becomes a seer. The various seers in the East and the West experienced the same Truth at different times and different places while the experience the same. The expression is different according to the time and place and the language. The purpose of spiritual fusion is to enable man to understand that all seers in the East and the West expressed the same truth. And that the process to experience the truth is always the same though it seems to be different from a distance. This work is of fusion of East and West is part of the present “time plane” where one globe without barriers of nation, one humanity without barriers of race and one life without barriers of form, are more understood than before. It is the quality of the Aquarian age. Man tends to see that which is common and tends to synthesize in contrast to the analysis of the differences. The beginning for this has been made in the earlier centuries and it is more perceptable now and it will be an established fact in the next century. What I am attempting is only a link in a grand chain of actions.

3. Qn. How do you plan to achieve this?

Ans. By making man understand himself better, that he is the in-dweller of the human frame, that the frame consists of the mental, vital and physical bodies and that it is his vehicle for experiencing. He is the dweller in the vehicle but not the vehicle. That the in-dweller (soul) is a spark of a greater being (Super Soul). When man thus understands that he essentially is a triple namely: The Spirit, The individual Human Soul and the Body and that as soul he has paternity to all the creatures and that his body is a facility for interaction with the objectivity. His actions get moulded and will be “en rapport” with the greater bodies with the planets. He understands his own constitution properly and his purpose on the planet and also his relationship to the planet and the planetary beings.

4. Qn. How does this become possible?

Ans. By practice of the science of “I AM” as propounded by the great teachers from time to time….. The practice basically involved tuning up the thought body, the desire body and the physical body with the soul, these aspects have been very scientifically explained in the yoga of Patanjali and in the Bhagavadgita. The process of the tuning up is experienced as Yoga. The scriptures as well as the teachers emphasised the need to practice the simple principles. They did not recommend the acquisition of knowledge to start with. The knowledge unfolds from within when purity is achieved in thought in speech and in action. Acquisition of the knowledge without gaining purity is a futile exercise. More often the under-standing becomes distorted. Hence the true teacher stressed more on unity of thought, speech and action and their unstained purity. Every day is an opportunity to practice purity in thought in speech and in action. A seeker of truth when engages himself truthfully in such process, realises that there is a definite and gradual unfolding of knowledge from within proportionate to the purity and alignment of thought speech and action. This principle and the process of this application does not change according to time and place. It is simple to practice but to be simple is difficult, hence this is the riddle of the human life.

5. Qn. How do westerners respond to this?

Ans. The westerners respond to this better than the present day easterners. They have a scientific approach to any concept. The spiritual science is exact and is precise and hence is attracting their attention more and more. There is no such thing as religion in the practice of alignment of thought, speech and action. There is also no religion involved to become less and less impure in thought, in desire and in action. The three fold human frame namely the mental, the desire and the physical bodies gradually become translucent as their alignment is in progress and purity is gained. The practice is straight and is simple and is devoid of technicalities. It is incapable of being confused. It is for this reason, the westerners find the science of alignment (Yoga) feasible and practicable. In as much as it does not demand faith, in a God, religion or a Master, it is, therefore, acceptable to the common sense of man whether theist or athiest hence it is successful in the west.

The western approach (scientific approach) to the eastern scriptures is yielding good results. The eastern philosophy never demanded faith or belief. It always recommended practice of simple principles to keep the man in alignment with his three bodies. When alignment is completed, the knowledge shines forth and understanding becomes complete.

6. Qn. What is your experience in relation with the work of fusion of East and West?

Ans. It is my experience that there are sincere seekers of truth spread all over the planet who are beyond the concepts of 'isms' faiths and beliefs and who are willing to experiment the scriptured instructions upon themselves. It is there in search of the truth that meet the simple Doctrine of Truth as propounded by the world scriptures and the Great teachers. These are now gathering together as a natural process on account of their open-minded approach to theology. This group of practitioners sincerely seek to learn the import of every theological systems (from the ancient Indian up to the Christian theologists including the Persian, Greek, Chaldian, Arabian, Hebrew and Babylonian systems) through their own understanding of themselves (That they are souls and that they carry bodies for objective interaction). As they understand themselves, they undertake all around to the culmination of this understanding is the realisation the unity of life. There are groups now in the west who are able to visualise this unity of life amidst the apparent diversity through nation, race, religion, creed and caste. They are the new group of world servers who carry wider under- standing to include all and exclude none. They are the future of this humanity. This is in short my experience of these travels to the West.

7. Qn. How do you see the prospect to this wisdom in the East?

Ans. This wisdom is essentially eastern in the beginning and finding favourable winds in the West now. An average eastern (Indian) is a split personality with much conflict in their personalities. Expediency is making erosion into the cherished values of life in his case. The eastern physically knows what is right but does not carry enough courage and will to live by it there is more confusion than clarity in what he wants. He is further brought down by the economic and social disorder. He learned through years to expect some divine intervention. He forgot that he is essentially divine and should therefore intervene to set his house in order. He should become self-supporting self-determining and self-governing. In short. He needs to awake from the drowsiness of the sleep and the glamour of his dreams. If he does so, he can be an admirable leader of the humanity. It is outrageous that today an average Indian expects God to descend to set right the affairs least Imagining that he is the instrument through which God functions. Dependence on extraneous factors and seeking God for fulfilment of personality requirements is the present misfortune that needs to be rectified through right understanding and right action.

8. Qn. What do you visualise for India in the years to come?

Ans. To walk through much trial and turbulence to reach clarity and gain freedom in its real sense, there is yet another freedom India needs to experience, the freedom gained 44 years ago was more formal than real Indian freedom lies in the Indian's self-determination and self-governing and self-dependence. It has a precious past, which is priceless. Indians have to unhesitatingly embrace those valuable systems to rise in spirit and meet the challenge. The contemporary Indians have much to sacrifice to restitute India to its place of pride and beauty. Essentially the Indian races are guided by the will, which needs to be aroused. It is expected that Indians will rise to the occasion and lead the humanity in the centuries to come. It remains once again a fond hope if we remain expectant and if we do not plunge into right action, timely action and effectiveness in action are the need of the hour. We do not need much preaching for we know what we should do. We only need to do that which we already know.

9. Qn. Please briefly mention the Highlights of your 9th European Spiritual tour?

Ans. In this tour I touched as many as 24 spiritual groups. There have been participants from America, Brazil, Australia, Italy, Germany, Austria, Greece and Sri Lanka. I have toured In Spain, Germany, Switzerland and Greece where there have been groups gathering and group living.

  • Churches have been offered for common prayers, fire rituals, discourses and other rituals, and thread marriages.
  • Marriages have been performed in accordance with the ancient ritualistic methods. Simplifying the text of rituals. Naming ceremonies, blessing to pregnant ladies and initiation in education have all been ritualised and performed.
  • Sunday schools are being established to children between age group 7 and 14 years to impart in simple terms, the knowledge of man, the purpose of his life and his relationship with other kingdoms of nature.
  • Healing groups have been formed to heal the sick through prayers and meditation according to a system which is ancient and yet Universal.
  • Comparative study of scriptures have been carried out in relation to concepts of Agni, full moon, discipleship, healing, Eternity of existence and sacred topics.
  • Books have been released relating to the writings of Master E.K. “Initiations” was published in German Language, “Wisdom of Pythagoras” was published and released in English language, “Master C.V.V' and “Full Moon Meditation” were published in Spanish language. Four more books of Master E.K. are planned for translation and publication in the year to come.
  • Family way of life is fully restituted in all these groups. Family as a training ground for spiritual unfoldment vocation as a training ground for the spread of spiritual quality into another life are gradually being realised in all these groups for a more complete expression of spirituality in daily life.
  • Socio-economic basis for spiritual living has been the cherished goal of Master E.K. which has been practised by all these groups both in the East and in the West.
  • 29th May is the day of initiation into energy of synthesis. Master C. V. V. Gurupooja celebrations have been organised for one full week in a church on the seashore of Barcelona in a spacious church where 150 people lived, dined, meditated together. The communion through community living has now become regular and frequent in Europe. This has been the fourth Gurupooja celebration in Europe since 1988.

(This interview was published in Deccan Chronicle on 18th July, 1991)

11. Master E.K. - A Reformer

Master E.K. is a social reformer. He dedicated his life to impart ancient Indian values as propounded in the scriptures to enable man to refind humanism in him and also to regain his original identity. His way of normal living with human and spiritual values is itself a good demonstration of the teachings he spread. Thus his teachings have become living teachings inspiring people to lead harmonious living.

E. K. is a man with supernatural faculties. Those who lived with him in close proximity certainly knew that he was an uncommon man. He, however, preferred to work with common man. Man is very vague in his objectives when he worships God. E.K. gave a very practical approach to stimulate the latent energies in man thereby enabling man to find himself in harmony within and outside. His methods to do so have been very normal, simple and common. They did not carry the tinge of mysticism. They are practicable by all those who are inclined to improve themselves.

Man developed everything around him without developing himself. He does not know how to handle that which he developed. This is the cause for all chaos and confusion in the present day society. The ancient Indian way of life stressed more for man's development in preference to development of things around. Hence, they could reach the heights of living. They were in harmony with the surroundings. It is, therefore, essential for man to grow before he grows in the objectivity.

In Master EK's view, spiritualism is not an exclusive indoor practice to gain something for personal use and enjoyment. His understanding of God and God presence is so direct for those who are inclined to work with it. E. K. often used to say that all is spiritual and that which is known as material is only the off spring of the spirit and hence it is equally spiritual. Spirit is the basis for all. Hence, man's domestic, economic and social living should continue to carry this under-current for a meaningful and purposeful experience of life. Socio-economic basis for spiritual living was his pet-doctrine and practised doctrine.

THEORY OF SUBSTITUTION:

The ancient Indian Masters insisted upon the human, the need to know himself and the need to pass on this process of his growing into wisdom to his successors. This helps to maintain continuity of wisdom of living through generations.

The son has to learn from his father and then teach his son before he departs. This way, the tradition continues in the family. The teacher passes on to his disciples the wisdom. The disciple, in turn, also, passes on the same wisdom to his disciples. This is how the father lives through the son and teacher through the disciple. Master E.K. extended this concept into the economic life and social life also. This is a marvellous contribution of E.K. to the contemporary spiritual thought.

He used to say that no man can depart without preparing substitutes to continue the work that he initiated or picked up from his predecessor. From predecessor to successor one should live as a link and pass on the wisdom of living in every aspect of life.

Master E.K. reconstructed human values into hundreds of families. He scientifically explained many orthodox and traditional practices, thereby giving a meaningful adoption by families to those traditional practices. For instance, he gave (scientific exposition to the traditional habits such as (a) Early morning rise (b) Shower before sunrise © Meditation, prayer and worship during twilight hours (d) Application of brow mark etc.

These are the observations made by Mr. Parvathi Kumar on the occasion of presenting the 'Master E.K. Award' to Mr. P.V.R.K. Prasad, the Chairman, Visakhapatnam Port Trust, in connection with the 66th birthday celebrations of Master E.K. conducted by The World Teacher Trust Brotherhood (Jagadguru Peetham) at Andhra University Assembly Hall, Visakhapatnam on August 11, 1991.

Purity, “internal and external”, according to Master E.K. is the only eligibility to do Vedic rituals. He openly initiated those who showed inclination into occult wisdom without any discrimination of caste, creed, religion, nation and race

12. From Human To Devine

Jesus reminded the people when he was called “The Son of God” that we too are the Sons of God. But the difference is we forget and he remembers. The birth of God in Man is a happening through time. But it can be made possible by adopting to the right way of life which transforms man and every son of God is a good example to follow. It is for this reason Jesus Christ said: “I am the Way,” meaning the way to “I am” (or Ahamasmi in Sanskrit). It is also for this reason that called “Thadhagata”, meaning the one who followed “The Way”.

Mr. Parvathi Kumar pays tributes to Jesus Christ on the occasion of Christmas.

“The Way” or “The Path” remains the same and when one treads that Path, he transforms himself into a Son of God, and a Saviour of mankind is thus born. There are many who treaded the Path and attained “Sonship” on this planet. But in this age of Kali, Jesus Christ stands out as an excellent example to be followed by humanity, The compassion and love he demonstrated in life surpasses all human understanding. In the present day context of competition, aggression and violence, the thought of Jesus Christ provides respite, peace and tranquillity.

It is not enough if people praise him and worship him in the churches. It is very relevant that we set in practice what he practiced and spread the harmony among the humankind.

Mankind learnt the trick of praising the Sons of God and behaving in just opposition to their teachings. Like devils quoting the Scriptures, mankind learnt to use the sacred names for worldly purpose and promote their selfish ends. Every teaching of the Son of God is gradually turned into “Business” though holy. There are many “Sellers” of the teachings but few practitioners. Hence the “Kingdom of God upon Earth” eludes man and it is so since 1991 years.

But Christ is not disappointed with the worldly men. He still finds something worthy in man and hence continues his mission to kindle the hearts. He does it in his own way with the help of his own mates of the “Esoteric Church”. He has a method to spot the human souls with clean mind and pure heart and all such souls are his vehicles to spread love and Harmony. The Esoteric Church system has no barriers of race, religion, caste, creed and nation. He recruits all human souls of clean mind and pure heart and excludes others, even if they are Christians by religion.

Christ accepts our flowers only when our actions carry that flowery touch-the softness to a co-being, Christ accepts our prayers only when we accept “all life” unconditionally. Let us therefore avail the opportunity of Christmas offered to us and reconstruct our life-style to enable spreading of Love and Light.

13. An Esoteric Understanding of Durga Poojas

Once again there is festivity as we enter the month of Asweeyuj (Libra). Mother is worshipped as Goddess Durga the impermeable fortress. Apart from festivities and the religious fervour there is deep significance in worship of the mother during the month. The ancient Indian seers know it and accordingly turned up to the energies offered, particularly by this month.

Mr. Parvathi Kumar in a discourse given in Visakhapatnam on the significance of Durga Poojas.

OBJECTIVITY AND SUBJECTIVITY:

The end of Kanya (Virgo) and the beginning of Tula (Libra) mark the equinox as the Sun (apparently) passes through the equator in his Southern Journey and corresponds to the mid-night of the year while Mesha (Aries) corresponds, to the midday. Libra contains all the secrets of the process of objectivity, precipitating from subjectivity. It contains all the properties of the 12 Sun signs, just like Aries. It is interesting to note that Libra is the 7th Sun sign from Aries and thus forms the female part of Aries, according to a message given by Mr. Kambhampati Parvathi Kumar, on October 14 at Visakhapatnam.

Together, he said, they form the eternal couple Aries the Father and Libra the Mother. The Mother of the Universe is the objective side of the father and the Father of the Universe is the subjective side of the Mother.

THE FULCRUM:

Mother as Durga stands as the fulcrum principle balancing the subjective and objective activity of the creation. Those who worship according to the science of rituals realise the secret passage between the subjective and objective existence. In so far as man does not realise his subjective side of existence he cannot be said to have known himself. His objective existence is only an envelope of the Man within and this is realised when man travels inward from outward. An esoteric worship should culminate in man turning to his subjective existence. For such internal journey Mother holds the Key. It is for this reason Mother Durga is worshipped in the month of Libra to find the 'vertical path' to, the Father through the vertebra, as man turns within and unfolds.

The fulcrum principle causes rotation and the rotation is a double force when traced at the centre. Thus the Mother Durga functions as the radiating (diversifying) force and also as the blending force. One can travel from the Centre to circumference and from the circumference to the Centre when Durga is realised esoterically.

LIBRA PRINCIPLE:

'The Secret Doctrine' tells us that there were only ten signs in the Zodiac at first with Virgo and Scorpio functioning as one Sun sign and with the total absence of Libra. It is true even now with the human body which is given birth with a gestation of 10 months in the womb. As the human body comes out, the male and female generative parts are not formed.

They are gradually developed during the period of 7 to 14 years. Till then, virtually the children do not feel the sex difference. The sex difference is gradually felt, with male and female parts forming, which also gives birth for mutual attraction according to the law of polarity. This is the birth of Libra that separates Virgo and Scorpio, forming the 12 Sun signs of the Zodiac. Thus the women are separated during the evolutional process of creation to perform the act of reproduction. This is also explained as the fall of man in the occidental scriptures, which is but a process of objectivity springing up from subjectivity.

This is explained in the Eastern Scriptures as Spirit Transforming into matter through successive degrees and resting in matter. The self-same process when reversed enables man to transform from matter (dense physical) to spirit. It is in this context Durga Poojas are meant to be celebrated.

SRI CHAKRA PYRAMID:

'Sri Chakra' as the symbol of the Mother with interpolated triangles is the form recommended for worship the Triangles with apex upward (4 in number) and the Triangle with apex downward (5 in number) form the Queen of the Archaic symbols called 'Sri Chakra' the Triangle with apex upward represent the male (Father) principle and the Triangle with apex downward represents the female (Mother) principle.

The whole creation is the result of the interlacing of the two triangles in 9 planes. It is interesting to note that the whole ritual is carried out for 9 successive days beginning with 'Pratipat' and reaches its culmination on the 10th day (Dasami) a number for fulfilment. There are many interesting similarities between this ancient Indian symbol of worship and the pyramids of Egypt. The number, the shape, the detail of the ritual indicate so.

On each of the nine days, each one of the nine “Avaranas” are worshipped. The Mother has a separate name for each day and is worshipped as a specific centre of force in the body and is even offered a specific food after ritual.

THEISM:

The 10 day ritual, when done with proper esoteric under- standing, makes man a yogi who anchors at the fulcrum, that is beautifully posited exactly in between the subjectivity and he thus becomes a dweller in the Kingdom of God upon Earth. He is no more the animal man that seeks with aggressivity in the objective world at the cost of others. He is no more that impractical Sanyasi that renounces the world. He is the practical spiritualist that demonstrates equi-poise. In him the theist and atheist meet Mr. Parvathi Kumar thus concluded the message.

14. Men of integrity can steer India safely

1. Qn. What according to you is the present Indian situation?

Ans. The present Indian condition is one of transition at all levels. Political, Economical, Social and Spiritual as well.

2. Qn. Is the transition for good or bad?

Ans. This depends upon the response of every Indian to the present situation. In my opinion Indians cannot think of themselves separately anymore and should plunge into collective, responsible action for the common good. It is generally expected that this transition is for good.

Mr. Parvathi Kumar is not only an economist but also a social worker that promoted about 50 charitable foundations. He is a person who works and guides different sections of people in economical, social and spiritual fields. His teachings on Ancient Wisdom are in demand in India and abroad. He is guiding many groups in India and Europe, towards socio economic living with spiritual basis.

3. Qn. Who would lead this transition?

Ans. The people of India through the people who matter for the nation.

4. Qn. Do the present political leaders help for the transition?

Ans. They can if they will. India's problem in the recent past has been lack of political will in implementation of the ideology they proclaim. They need to integrate and also maintain integrity. The key for transition is held by the political system and it needs to be supported by the bureaucracy. In preference to national interest, irresponsibility of actions and corruption in high offices have been plaguing the Indian politics and are percolating through bureaucracy into the total working system. The whole system is thus sick. The cure has to be at the root cause but not at the level of its consequences. The need of the hour is a political will that can demonstrate integrity, national commitment and accountability for public.

5. Qn. What changes you desire in the bureaucracy to work out the transition?

Ans. The change in the bureaucracy has to be in its attitude than anything. They should realize it. They must descend from authority to service. Public servant is essentially to serve the public. Today the public is serving them. This situation changes only when integrity is regained by the political system and the public start asserting its just right.

6. Qn. Please explain your concept of public assertion?

Ans. The Indian public is not assertive enough. They do not complain collectively and effectively when the political and bureaucratic systems fail to function. For example they tolerate non supply of water, failure of power supply, supply of essential goods, lack of medical and educational facilities, lack of good roads and even lack of sanitation. Non-assertion cannot be glorified as the virtue (tolerance) of the Indian public. They must demand proper functioning of the system and effectively resist social evils. They must make the public servant (bureaucrats) and the public representatives (Politicians) work for the public without lapses. These lapses are at the root of violence by an emotional section of community.

7. Qn. Does it mean a revolution by the public is needed?

Ans. Indian psyche is such that revolutions are not possible. Bloodshed methods do not work in this country, Responding to the present need or conditions by groups of intelligent men of integrity can steer the nation safely. It cannot be done by people who are emotional in their nature, who believe violence as a means of rectification.

8. Qn. How do you see the religious conflict of the time?

Ans. In my view India is the only secular nation in its spirit, thought and action. Universalism has been the undercurrent of the Indian psyche. But today, it has been exploited by vested interests for the purposes of their own ends. Practice of religious instructions is given secondary importance to propaganda stunt. At the individual level, there is no conflict between the Hindus, the Muslims and the Christians. None of them wants conflict. But they have become concrete tools in the hands of vested interests who are behind them. The need of the hour is practising the religious tenets than fighting with banners. To tolerate, to co-operate and to love the fellow human being do not require a religion. It requires humanism. There is no ism, there is only tolerance, co-operation and love. Virtues do not carry isms. People who followed isms in preference to virtues are not truly religious. The practice should, therefore, give place to slogans. The public should not give scope to the unabated exploitation by the selfish few. The goal of every religion is to direct the human beings towards peaceful co-existence. It is, therefore, not pardonable if people fight in the name of religion.

9. Qn. There are expectations from many quarters that we are leading for an economic crash in the near future. How do you view the present economic situation?

Ans. The present economic situation is only the result of mishandling of the national economy, failure of the government enterprises and government administration. Insipid political leadership is the root cause. Economic activity shall have to be subservient to the social cause.

Lack of direction in our case has propelled a further dosage of recent political instability blowing up the economic instability to dangerous proportions. Social and economic objectives are inextricably inter-wind. Failure of one results in the failure of the other. The recent changes in the economic policy is nothing but an emergent measure to save the nation from economic crisis. This is only a temporary measure.

The wealth of any nation depends upon its gross national product, India must work to improve its G.N.P. Productivity should be given top priority. Unfortunately there are more middle men and dependants than producers in our country. The ratio of G.N.P, to the population is discouragingly low.

The government policies encouraging the inefficient and non productive activities and even subsidising them have been short sighted, vote oriented and self-destructive.

India perhaps is the only nation where merit is at a discount while almost a premium is placed on the inefficient. The weak should no doubt be protected but the strong should not be discouraged, constricted and limited. The policies have to be radically changed to encourage merit and protect the weak. The policies have to be radically changed to encourage nationality. The best brain of India is already drained out of the country who found a good expression in the West. This is a clear case of neglect of our own skills. This cannot continue.

It is unfortunate that the Indian brain which is best on the planet finds fertile soil elsewhere. It's unnatural that the best children of the Mother India are away from motherland.

10. Qn. Do you advocate privatisation?

Ans. Enterprise should always be in the private hands. The govt. should always play a supervising role keeping the national interest in view, Govt. can never do business. It becomes no body's business, if Govt., does it. Our Govt., undertakings prove this adequately. It is high time that the private enterprise is given the opportunity. A ruler should remain a ruler and should not turnover to be a business man. Likewise, businessmen cannot be made rulers. Our Indian condition appropriately proves this scriptural statement.

11. Qn. Do you also recommend that the banks should be privatised?

Ans. I don't think any private business house would be willing to take over the nationalised banks with its present infrastructure and working attitude.

I am of the view, that as many private banks should be promoted as the nationalised banks to provide healthy competition. The fit ones survive.

15. Man know Thyself

1. Qn. What are the countries and continents that you have visited in your 10th tour of the globe?

Ans. I have been invited to Europe and South America to share the ancient wisdom. In Europe I was in Spain, Germany and Switzerland and in South America I was in Argentina and Brazil.

2. Qn. Which section of the society invites you and learn wisdom from you?

Ans. Truth seekers exist every where. Groups of such seekers invite me. They are all bent on self-transformation and development and therefore seek the techniques of practice. Normally they belong to all sections of the society.

3. Qn. How many groups have you attended to?

Ans. There are 30 groups in Europe and 12 groups in South America. The groups group themselves for group living and I teach these groups. Each group consists of 20 to 30 persons and for group living 6 to 7 such groups gather together.

4. Qn. What are the techniques you teach for self-development?

Ans. The techniques are age old but are given in a language understandable at present. They are the technique of sound, colour, form (symbol) and number. An astrological dimension is also given along with the techniques. A Rhythm is also set for practice. Meditation commences the daily activity and concludes daily activity in this practice.

5. Qn. What is astrological dimension to the techniques you speak of?

Ans. Astrology has much to offer for self-unfoldment. We call this as spiritual astrology, different from the predictive astrology. The new moon and the full moon, the equinoxes, the solstices, the eclipses, the moon phases as also the inter planetary relations have an impact on earth and also on the lives of the earthly beings. Understanding these energies presented by time gives an extra edge in the practice for self-development. In fact, without astrological understanding much of the occult practice remains closed. Even the scriptures are dead letter books if the astrological understanding is not gained.

6. Qn. Can you elaborate further about the importance of astrology for scriptural reading?

Ans. Scriptures frequently speak of the astrological symbols, such as snakes, eagles, elephants, goats, fishes etc. Snakes indicate cycles of time. Likewise other animals indicate the Sun signs such as Leo, Scorpio, Capricorn, Aries etc. For instance, the Lion and the Great Bear and Krishna's fight with great bear has greater significance than what the popular story reveals. Be-heading Daksha prajapathi and replacing by a ram's head is the beginning of an Arian cycle. Beheading the Prajapathi's son and replacing it by elephant head is indicative of death of personal ego and birth of Jupiterian wisdom. Puranas, the ancient Indian treasure are full of such symbolism and hence cannot be understood without the astrological key. Similarly, the Bible also contains many such symbols. The descent of the serpent from the tree of life is indicative of the process of creational involution through time. Adam and Eve putting on coats of skin is indicative of the creation reaching the physical plane. The story of the Noah's arc is the story of the ending of Manvantara for the beginning of a New Manvantara.

7. Qn. What were the themes given to you during your tour?

Ans. In Spain, I spoke on the discipleship and significance of Gemini full-moon which is adored in the West as the Full moon of the Christ. I have also spoken upon the Aquarian age and the work of Master C.V.V. in relation thereto. I also addressed the theosophical society of Barcelona upon the theme of sound. In Germany, I spoke on spiritual healing for 9 days. In Argentina, I spoke of the relationship between the student and the teacher. I have also given seminar on astrology and healing. In Posadas, I spoke upon the theosophical movement, its origin and Its growth and also upon the work of Master C.V.V.

8. Qn. Do you function through the World Teacher Trust in all these Places?

Ans. The groups that invite me in Europe and South America are the groups of truth seekers. They have their organisations. But they are willing to work with the wisdom given. They are also willing to work out synthesis of the wisdom through practice in daily life. They need not be the members of the W.T.T. Many of them belong to the theosophical movement and the traditional Christian understanding. The group livings are conducted under the premises of these two organisations. The W.T.T. has given the way of life. It is not interested in spreading its organisational structure but maximum practice for inner growth. This is the only way for objective expression.

9. Qn. Could you briefly explain the essence of your teaching?

Ans. Man has to educate himself of his own constitution. Today an average man does not know what he is. He can be spiritual, human and also can be animal. He has all the potentials to be spiritual -He needs to work more with himself to understand himself. I introduce the potentials to the listeners. Having understood oneself the next step for man is to establish harmony through co-operation with minerals, the plants the animals and the subtler intelligences relating to all these kingdoms. All my teachings surround these two concepts.

Those who work out the wisdom find spirituality as a basis for family life and social and economic living. It is no more a vocation but is life itself.

10. Qn. How do you find the response to your teachings?

Ans. The teachings are not mine. They are age-old. Hence the response is good. The groups earnestly request me to give more time to them. They even ask me to six months time in every year. Inspired of the teachings, they are planning to establish children's schools, and healing centres. They are already actively circulating teachings through cassettes and books. For the 1993 Gurupoojas which will be conducted by the W.T.T. Brotherhood, they wish to be present in India in greater number than previous year. I, therefore, reasonably presume they feel good with the teaching.

16. Foremost among the Hindu Gods

Lord Vinayaka is considered the foremost among the deities of the Hindu Pantheon. He is also described as Vigneshwara, the Lord of hurdles, meaning. He would dispel all the hurdles in the way of the seeker of Truth towards attaining self-realisation. In this mundane context, he removes the obstacles in the day-to-day life of his devotees. That is why all activities for the welfare of mankind begin with a puja or homa invoking Lord Ganesha's blessings.

Vinayaka Chathurthi -Chavithi as the day is known in these parts -is the most popular festival all over India. “Apart from its popularity, the day and its Lord are full of spiritual significance”, said Mr. Parvathi Kumar.

Talking to THE HINDU on the spiritual aspects of Lord Ganapati Mr. Parvathi Kumar expatiated on several interesting details, beginning with the two-in-tale of Gajanana.

Gajasuram the elephant-faced demon, does severe penance to propitiate Lord Shiva. Pleased the Lord appears before him and offers a boon, Siva moves into the demons belly. Unable to find Siva, His consort Parvathi seeks Lord Vishnu's assistance. Vishnu comes to know Siva's predicament and seeks the help of Nandi the carrier of Siva, to give a dance performance before Gajasura. Enraptured by Nandi's rythmic excellence, he grants the request to release the Lord stating that he has become a liberated soul, Gajasura pleads with Siva to make use of him in his scheme of things Siva wears the skin of the demon as His clothing and promises to honour his request at the appropriate time.

PARVATHI'S CREATION:

In the meantime, Parvathi shapes out an image of a boy from the perfume paste on Her person. Charmed by the hand someness of the doll, she gives life to it. She makes the boy stand as the palace guard and bids him not to allow anyone in. The 'released' Siva comes to join his consort at the palace, but is blocked by the boy who does not know whom he is stopping. After a wordy and physical war with the boy, Siva beheads the lad with the trident. On seeing her slain 'Son', Parvathi's anger knows no bounds. She refuses to be pacified until the boy is restored to life. At this point, the Lord remembers his promise to Gajasura and immediately fits the elephant head to the torso and makes him the leader of His Ganas…

Explaining the inner meaning of these episodes Mr. Parvathi Kumar said ‘The soul when stuck in the Manipuraka is confined to worldly things. It can be released only by the rhythmic influence of sound exemplified by the Nandi dance episode resulting in the release of Siva.

In the case of Parvathi’s boy, he easily gets the power of the Mother, but does not yet have the wisdom of the Father, and out of ignorance, he stops him. The Lord by beheading the boy and giving him a new life, grants him Dwijatwa and thereby wisdom, according to the Vedas. Gajanana is thus endowed with Shakti and Gnana by the Universal Parents.

According to him, the keys of astrology and etymology can open up the significance of Indian festivals. Each year, Vinayaka Chavithi occurs in the fourth day of the waxing moon in the month of Bhadrapada (Kanya or Virgo). Bhadra is the name of the Mother and pada means path. Bhadrapada means 'the path of the Mother in preparation of creation'. It is nothing but the happening of the creation with universal essence as the substance. 'It is the combination of Moola Purusha (root substance) and Moola Prakruti (root matter) and signifies the genesis of Lord Ganesa'.

LORD OF GROUPINGS:

The main aspect of the genesis of Vinayaka is the classifying principle, that is classifying the mother aspect into various aspects of creation. In fact Ganapathi is the 'Classifier at the supra cosmic plane and the Lord of Groupings', He does this by the instrument of sound, more by listening than by speaking. He intently listens to the plan of the Mother and Father before undertaking the task of classifying. Hence he is considered the foremost principle for all spiritual activities. Faculty to arrange the plan of work both at the cosmic and the lower levels is represented by Ganapati, by virtue of His ability to listen to the 'unuttered sound' -AUM. The two big black ears of his are meant only for this.

SYMBOLISM:

The twisted trunk of the Lord is the replica of the Brahmadanda and emphasises that man is limited by the physical emotional and mental planes. The trunk is twisted only near the navel but is well aligned above. It is only to remind the human being that he is twisted and that he needs to coordinate his activities on the above mentioned planes.

The pot belly of the Lord symbolises the Jupiterian fullness born out of a sense of fulfilment. Anything round is indicative of 'poornam'. Jupiter -Brihaspati or Guru -is in a rare combination with Ganesa in the cosmic plane. The Lord is also called the 'Guru'. The belly of the Lord is tied by the serpent. 'This indicates that in creation, he functions in line with time'. Kala is represented by serpent and the expansive principle of Jupiter can be limited only by time.

The 'modakam' in one of His hands shows his state of blissfulness arising out of the cheerful attitude. The Lord is easily pleased by the offer of such an eatable which has the sweet 'poornatwam' covered with the white flour of purity of mind. The 'Pasa' in another hand is meant to show the bondage of the human being and the need to be disentangled from it.

SIGNIFICANCE:

How is it compatible that a massive-sized lord has the small 'Mooshika' (mouse) as his vehicle?

Says Mr. Parvathi Kumar, the rodent is always swift in action. It is also very skilful but very selfish. It is ready to steal and hoard its food. Only the Jupiterian principle of wisdom can win over a skilful and selfish person. By subduing the tendency of the mouse to steal and hoard, Ganapathi proves that these qualities are subservient to wisdom. In the presence of Wisdom, selfishness is bound to become small and intelligence works as a tool of wisdom.

On the significance of Chavithi he says 'Whenever moon is in the constellation of Hasta we experience Jupiterian vibrations. When Sun also enters Bhadrapada or Virgo it is the most opportune time to realise the supra cosmic principle of Jupiter that is Lord Ganapathi himself.

17. Socialism emerging

1. Qn. What for are you invited to Europe and Latin America?
Ans. The Ancient Indian values are Universal, Scientific and are directly applicable for harmonious way of living. A section of people in the West are interested in these values. They, therefore invite me to speak on them and to get familiarise with them.

Mr. Parvathi Kumar, a preacher of Ancient Wisdom, on invitation from some groups in Europe and South America, he toured in Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Argentina and Brazil to promote the cause of the spiritual fusion of East and West for fifty days and returned to India on July 16th, 1993, after successfully completing his 11th tour.

2. Qn. What are those values?

Ans. A harmonious family life and a minimum economic and social comfort are a basis to experience an integrated life system.

3. Qn. What is an integrated life system?

Ans. It is recognition and realisation of the unit of life and its diversity in function.

4. Qn. Describe briefly your activity during the tour?

Ans. Groups invite me. They consist of people from all sections of Society. They include Engineers, Doctors, Teachers, Psychologists, Bankers. Lawyers etc. Meditation to stabilise mind is given according to the Ancient Indian Tradition. Gayatri and Narayana Mantra are chanted to purify the intellectual and emotional bodies. The sacred word 'OM' is invoked 21 times during the noon time as an effort to purify in general. Discourses are given on Ancient Wisdom. There is also a daily question - answer session and personal consultation.

5. Qn. What are the topics of your discourse?

Ans. The topics are selected by them. This year I discoursed on Cosmogenesis, Anthropogenesis, Shatchakra Niroopanam (the six centres of Tantra), education, astrology, health and healing, symbolism of scriptures such as sound, colour, shape number.

6. Qn. How is astrology relevant in Theology?

Ans. Astrology is very relevant to Theology. It is the science of light. It leads one to LIGHT. There is a definite and sure path of working with planetary energies to realise the Light. It is the true use of Astrology. It is unlike the mundane, predictive astrology. The planetary principles of Mars, Saturn, Venus. Mercury and Jupiter lay down the successively ascending steps to light and light is God in Creation. The other name for which is consciousness. There are many names to it.

7. Qn. How do you say the Indian values are Universal?

Ans. The Ancient Indian values are impersonal and universal. It speaks of the Universal Energy, the Universal Force and their interaction with the Universal Nature. The Indian system does not promote personal God but postulates visualisation of God in persons -in all forms. The wisdom does not name or form God but enables to realise God through names and forms. The Ancient Indian Wisdom is an excellent Synthesis of the formative state with the principles and qualities beyond the form. It treats the spirit and matter with equal dignity. It is not limited to isms, Alogies and concepts. It is scientific in its true sense.

8. Qn. What makes the West look to this wisdom?

Ans. The West developed a scientific approach to comprehend. They have an investigative habit. The Indian Wisdom science invites such approach and unveils only through such approach. It is as much a science as an art of experience. It postulates scientific process to systematically approach the consciousness. It carries among it many tools the symbolism of the sound, the shape and ritual relating their tools. The sound is 'mantra', the shape is 'Yantra' and the ritual is 'Tantra'. It carries definite understanding of numbers and colours. The West is presently engaged in study of these tools, which are Universal and are impersonal.

9. Qn. What do you mean by impersonal?

Ans. By that I mean that they do not belong to any person. races or religions. They withstand the vicissitudes of Time. They are eternal. Numbers, Sounds, Colours, Shapes and time are Universal and are beyond the conditioned aspect of any isms. They function unfailingly in a laid down pattern and are stable in their functioning. Number as potency, Sound as vibration. Colour as velocity and Shape as the resultant of the activity of the preceding three are eternal. The knowledge of their pattern is the Wisdom Science and this Science like the Material Science is impersonal.

10. Qn. Does this wisdom pave way for World Harmony?

Ans. It has every potential not only to pave the way for harmony but also to unveil the World beyond form. It is for the Mankind to opt for it or not.

11. Qn. Do you think the mankind would opt for it?

Ans. There is a Time dimension to it. The contemporary time is gripping Man. In the field of Global Economics and Politics much unrest is seen in recent times which should be understood as tightening of the grip by Time. If grip tightens further Man falls into the inevitable state of opting for the Ancient Wisdom in slow degrees. This inaugurates revival of values gradually.

12. Qn. How do you see the present world scenario?

Ans. The world scenario is changing faster and quicker since 1988. Nations are going through Sociological, Economical, Political and ideological convulsions. Change is the only constant now. The fall of Communism, the recession of Capitalism is leading the World Economics to the third position namely Socialism which is the Golden Mean between the two. We are now in a time of change which is interesting to observe.

13. Qn. Do you have any keynote programme for individual transformation?

Ans. I have. The key for individual transformation is the Key of Sound. Through proper application of this Key man can transform himself. There is a process of its invocation, there is also a timing relating to it which can be given to inclined individual without the distinction of caste, creed, race or religion.

18. A Sacred Mission

The spiritual Fusion of East and West as a Sacred Mission was undertaken by the World Teacher Trust in 1972 when Master E.K. was invited by Albert Sassi, a Theosophist from Belgium. Albert Sassi dedicated his life to learn and to teach the wisdom as it flowed from Madam H.P. Blavatsky and Alice A. Bailey. When Sassi was in India, he came into contact with Master E.K. In Master E.K., he found the New Age Teacher; he, therefore, deeply interacted with Master E.K. in the Blue Mountains. It resulted in inviting Master E.K. to Belgium, France and Switzerland, where Sassi had certain students of wisdom.

Responding to the call of Albert Sassi, Master E.K. made his first tour to the West in April, 1972. Even by the time Master E.K. responded to the call of Albert Sassi, the latter departed from the physical. Master E.K. therefore, had to work with the followers of faith left behind by Albert Sassi, who were mostly aged. Master E.K. was accompanied by Sri P.S.S. Varma during these tours in the initial stages. From 1972 to 1977 Master E.K. visited five times, the countries in Europe viz., Belgium, France and Switzerland. During this period public lectures were given by Master E.K. Publication of books in French and English languages was also contemplated. The first five visits were made mostly to look out for the disciples on the path. Master E.K. once again moved to the West to commence the work afresh with greater vigour, during 1981, 1982 and 1983. Master E.K. found the groups that were inspired by the writings of Master Djwal Khul. He was encouraged to give out deeper wisdom to the group by way of seminars and group livings in contrast to public lectures given in the initial five tours. During these three years viz., 1981, 1982 and 1983 the seeds were sown in the groups that came into contact with him for future unfoldment of the wisdom. He not only gave seminars but also organised group-livings where meditation was imparted, collective living was started and wisdom was exchanged. In the years 1981, 1982. 1983 the Master touched many places and groups in Belgium, France, Switzerland, Germany, even Denmark and Italy for once. During these three years (1981, 1982 and 83) Master E.K. was accompanied by Sri K. Parvathi Kumar at the former's instance.

Sri Parvathi Kumar is associated with Master E.K. and the World Teacher Trust right from the inception of the World Teacher Trust. In fact he is the one who framed the bye laws of the World Teacher Trust and arranged for its incorporation at the behest of the Master E.K. Ever since he took upon his young shoulders the responsibilities relating to the work of the Master and also that of the World Teacher Trust (WTT). He was an inspired soul even as he joined the Master, according to the Master.

Since 1976 till 1981, Master E.K. gradually shifted many of the responsibilities relating to the work to Sri K. Parvathi Kumar, which were ably shouldered by Sri Kumar. The Master was sharing the public platform with Sri Kumar ever since the celebration of His 50th birthday i.e., since 11th August 1976. The Master pronounced on the public platform on that auspicious day that Sri Parvathi Kumar would be a part of him hereafter and shall conduct the work of the Planetary Hierarchy and for that purpose will move globally in the years to come. This prophecy of the Master was found gradually manifesting. In the year 1981 July, Master E.K. invited Sri Parvathi Kumar to join him in his second effort to work out the spiritual fusion of East and West. Inspite of his domestic, professional, social and Trust commitments, Sri Parvathi Kumar showed the readiness to accompany the Master and thus started sharing the work of the Master even in the West.

In the years 1981, 1982 and 1983 while Master E.K. was conducting the Seminars. Sri Parvathi Kumar was carrying out background work to clarify the teachings further and consolidate the understanding of the students. Post-class time was mostly utilised by the students in the West to gather around Sri Parvathi Kumar to gain deeper understanding of the wisdom flowing from Master E.K.

The Teachings of Master E.K. were finding expression into the groups that were inspired by the Teachings of Master Djwalkhul. A definite path to progress was being laid in tune with the Hierarchy. In that context, in August 1983, when Master E.K. and Sri Parvathi Kumar were flying to Italy, the former told the latter that the latter needed to shoulder the responsibility of teaching in the coming years, which was also agreed to by the latter though reluctantly.

By 1983 much work was conceived whereby Master E.K. was to be in Europe for six (6) months in the years to come to teach inspire and guide the Truth-seekers that are spread over Europe. But the Plan took a sudden and surprising turn, when Master E.K. left the physical body in March 1984 in a most unexpected way, bringing the jolt to the work in India and abroad.

The departure of the Master from the physical did not deter the followers of the Master, who took upon themselves the activities that were left behind by the Master. During the years 1984 to 1996, the unfinished work of the Master has been mostly accomplished by his followers in all the fields in which the W.T.T. works. So also the Great Mission of the Spiritual Fusion of East and West was continued by Sri Parvathi Kumar effectively laying deeper foundations of the work not only in Europe but also in South America. The work is now entering into the North American countries and Australia as well.

Sri Kumar in his teachings laid emphasis on self-realisation and meditation as the means for such self- realisation. He explained the path of initiation. He taught the hierarchical wisdom in relation to the path. He has touched several spiritual groups in Europe and in South America. His visits resulted in exchange of visits from the European and Latin American and American Continents to India. Today, in the month of January, the entire city of Visakhapatnam, witnesses the influx of the Western brother- hood and their sincere participation in the activities of the W. T. T. Large number of Westerns started visiting Visakhapatnam annually and even intermittently to experience the harmonious Indian way of living. Exchanges have become very frequent between the East and the West. Sri Parvathi Kumar so far made 18 visits to Europe, Latin America and America in all and there is a regular movement of persons of thoughts and of letters establishing the mission of spiritual fusion of East and West in a humble way.

Sri Parvathi Kumar took upon himself to build up the spiritual activity between the East and the West on a sound basis with simple objectives of life. He saw the chief problem of the Truth-seekers was one of Imbalance in the outer life. He, therefore, worked to help the Truth seekers to find a minimum balance in relation to outer life. He taught, insisted and even helped wherever necessary to ensure that the Truth seeker is basically settled in terms of his economic, family and social activities. It is his main thought that man needs to work out sensibly the objective life to get into the subjective life. Thanks to his work, many Western brothers and sisters today inform that they have done away with the thought of divorce. Drawing inspiration from Sri Parvathi Kumar they engage in a holy wedlock and find each other noble, to walk upon the path together. Sri Kumar so far conducted twenty-four (24) marriages to couples in Europe and South America. Among these groups the events of divorces are eliminated.

In the groups with which Sri Kumar works within India and abroad, the non-vegetarians are gradually transformed as vegetarians and the smoker stopped smoking. He attributes this transformation of the group members to the deep meditational work that is being carried out in the groups. The Western Brotherhood frequently expresses when they come to India that they cherish to build the values of the family system as held by the W.T.T. families in India. They not only listen to Sri Kumar on the values of family system but also witness the Indian families when they visit India. This inspires them to rebuild the family system, which was lost in recent years due to the effect of over industrialisation. In the groups in the West, there is emphasis for right marital relationship and for building positive family unit, which is a natural first group to experience harmony.

The parents have taken upon themselves the responsibility to properly mould the children. It is at their insistence the book “MITHILA” was written by Sri Kumar. The parents in the West considered the book “MITHILA” as a hand book to train their children. They also inform their friends and relatives and other associate of the Wisdom contained in MITHILA whenever they confront problems from children. The groups also took upon the responsibility to run Sunday Schools to inform children the right values and also to impart the right discipline. Many are taught the Asanaas, the importance of Colour, Sound and Shape and the need to constructively develop themselves during the teen-age period.

During the visits abroad, in all 102 seminars were given by Sri Parvathi Kumar, for the brotherhood in the West. The Western brotherhood maintains an excellent library of cassettes relating to the teachings of Sri Parvathi Kumar. They have made sincere efforts to gather together the teachings of Master E.K and Sri K. Parvathi Kumar. In this connection the efforts of Brother Jesus and Sister Tiziana of Switzerland shall have to be noted. They have been deeply inspired by the teachings flowing from Master E.K. and Sri Parvathi Kumar which resulted in organising substantially the work in the West.

The Western brotherhood brought out translated versions (into German and Spanish languages) of all-important books of Master E.K., and of Sri Parvathi Kumar. These books move today in almost all the spiritual groups spread all over the world and they inspire the readers. There is a regular library of books, and of audio and video cassettes in almost all the groups in Europe, in South America and lately in America.

As between the groups in the West, they organise monthly newsletter called 'VAISAKH NEWS LETTER” inaugurate by Sri Parvathi Kumar on the Vaisakha Full Moon of 1987. The newsletter not only imparts the teachings coming from Master E.K. and Sri Parvathi Kumar, but also contains information about the activities of various groups in Europe.

There are many groups in Europe and many more groups in South America that are today functioning with the basic teachings of Madam H.P.B., A.A.B., Master E.K. and Sri Parvathi Kumar. The continuity of purpose, sincerity of approach, and the undeterred will of the Western brotherhood inspire the Indian brotherhood while the Western brotherhood are inspired by the love, the hospitality, the oneness and the simplicity of the Indian brotherhood.

The groups in the West are driven to the point of service emphatically at tangible levels. The spiritual impulse is today finding expression into a tangible activity of service effectively helping the poor and needy, organising Sunday Classes for children, assisting the cause of health in whatever way possible, nursing the old, healing the sick as also rendering affection and love to the physically handicapped and mentally handicapped persons. Varieties of services are being carried out in West and the groups are engaged in more and more service activities to the fellow beings.

The groups that are associated with the World Teacher Trust comprise of members from all walks of life. They include school teachers, University professors, doctors, lawyers, engineers, poets, young experts, artists, painters, musicians, retired personnel as also the youth, healers through alternative medicine, employers in Govt., and non-Government sectors, bankers, businessmen, industrialists and even politicians. The groups are good representative samples of the society. It is estimated that there are as many as 50 groups in Europe. 30 groups in South America, 10 to 12 groups in North America and a small group in Australia. Each group may consist of a minimum 50 members and maximum of 100 members.

While the Sacred Mission of spiritual fusion of East and West was inaugurated by Master E.K. it is well worked out and established during the practical working with the teachings of Sri K. Parvathi Kumar. The World Teacher Trust brotherhood deems it a great joy that the noble planetary work is thus fulfilled in a humble way in these 25 years.

19. World Teacher and Dharma

1. Qn. Why do you go around the world so very frequently? What do you teach?

Ans. I go around the world as per the requests that keep coming to me by way of invitations. My teachings are only a response to the requests. It always emphasises upon an integrated and holistic living.

The foundation of spiritual fusion of East and West has been laid by Holy Master E.K. whom Mr. K. Parvathi Kumar followed in 1981, 1982 and 1983. The work of Mr. Parvathi Kumar is for continuation of the work of Master E.K. as entrusted to him.

Mr. Parvathi Kumar, who is the Global Chairman of The World Teacher Trust (Jagadguru Peetham), is guiding many groups in India and abroad towards socio-economic living with spiritual basis. His teachings on ancient wisdom are well-received. On the invitation of some groups from Europe, North America and South America, he toured those countries promoting the cause of the spiritual fusion of the East and West for 77 days and returned to Visakhapatnam recently after successfully completing his 15th tour.

2. Qn. You function for The World Teacher Trust. Who is the World Teacher?

Ans. The world teacher or Jagadguru is the one who instructs men in the path of discipline and establishes Dharma through a life of action. As the need arises, he takes the shape of man and descends into our world. It is He who descended at different times as Rama, Krishna, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ, Maitreya and a host of others. These individual descents are known as incarnations. But it is the one Jagadguru, who comes down to the earth periodically as various incarnations. He establishes the one eternal Dharma according to the changing needs of the times.

3. Qn. Is the World teacher a person or a principle?

Ans. The World Teacher is a functional principle in creation. It incarnates according to the need of the hour and of the place. It is the preserving energy in creation that eliminates events that threaten the creational existence.

4. Qn. What is the spiritual fusion that The World Teacher Trust aims at?

Ans. We emphasise what is clearly said by the seers of all times namely: the social, economic and domestic activities of the human should be in tune with the Law of Nature called Dharma. The human desire, the human material acquisitive tendencies and the use of such material should be subservient to Dharma.

5. Qn. What happens if it is not so?

Ans. It leads man into self-conflict and causes disintegration. Today we can see the man, the society and the nations are in such conflict aroused out of excessive emphasis upon desire for power, for money and for many other things. When Dharma is forgotten, Artha and Kama bring only conflict and consequently sorrow is the lot of the individual society or nation. Frequently people in possession of money and power are found more in conflict than others. It is due to lack of adequate under-standing relating to the purpose of money and power.

6. Qn. Everybody speaks of Dhanna but nobody follows. Why is it so?

Ans. Firstly, it is an aspect of time. Secondly, the excessive materialistic tendencies and related conflict has not yet been threatening the very existence. Whenever, a threat or an impending fear confronts man, he thinks of changing his attitude. It is true at all levels. Man is fast approaching this threat and nature will confront the human nature and until then Dharma is not followed. The history of man reveals that each time he overgrew he was levelled by nature. The ancient Indian, Greek, Egyptian and Babylonian and other civilisations gave this clue. Lemurian and Atlantic civilisation also give the same clue. Any growth contrary to Dharma is contrary to the law of Nature and therefore, falls through time. Those who know this truth grow in tune with nature following dharma. Those who do not do so are periodically bent by Nature to follow Dharma and grow in Harmony.

7. Qn. But human history always showed massive following after money and power and never after Dharma, Why is it so?

Ans. I already said that it is in an aspect of time. The history you speak of is the history of man from Kaliyuga. There is also the history of man which is not on paper record but akasic record where man massively followed Dharma. Those times are called Krutha and treta Yugas.

8. Qn. Do you believe there is a time ahead where there will be massive following of Dharma?

Ans. Do you believe during midnight hours that there will be dawn and mid noon? You see time is cyclic. There is dawn, dusk, midnoon and midnight. In the midnight only darkness prevails but through time we walk into dawn and into midnoon which is highest point of illumination. The cycles of Time hold the key.

9. Qn. In a state of Dharma, how does human behave?

Ans. The state of Dharma is the state of equipoise. It is a state where there is equal emphasis upon spirit and matter. In that state material is not denied. Its appropriateness is realised and is experienced. It is balanced living.

10. Qn. But many spiritualists deny the world when they grow spiritually?

Ans. Denial of anything in creation arises out of lack of total comprehension. Everything in creation has its fitness. One needs to know the fitness of things in the world in relation to life, and act intelligently. Initiates such as Rama, Krishna and Janaka never denied anything but acted according to the fitness of the situation.

11. Qn. In this world of excessive materialism do you think people work for this kind of synthesis?

Ans. The people who look for synthesis do exist in small pockets all over the world. They are working out in their life such synthesis balancing material and spirit. They are developing the balanced approach to integrate the material living on a spiritual basis.

12. Qn. Does such an approach not cause hindrance to progress?

Ans. Which progress are you speaking of? The balanced approach leads to harmony. It gives peace and is progressive. The imbalance arising from competition, fear, suspicion and hatred are the products of to-days progress which is no progress at all. Let us think of progress with harmony but not of material progress with its by products such as competition, doubt, fear, suspicion, hatred etc.

13. Qn. Are the people spread over the globe who are working for global synthesis to affect the human society significantly?

Ans. The object of the groups I meet, is living in harmony. Those who come in touch with them may be affected and are inspired to follow the path of synthesis. It is a process of gradual enlightenment on a person to person basis but not a mass process.

14. Qn. How do the Western groups you speak of, mould their life into the synthesis?

Ans. The groups I speak of comprise of those persons who sensed the futility of meaningless material acquisition. They are persons who are looking for an understanding beyond personal interest. They look for personal enlightenment. They do not look for personal profit through spiritual practices. They work with Archaic symbols, colours and sounds. They understand the patterns of creational manifestation through time in space via sound, colour and symbol. They retain a moderate comfortable physical living and do not perceive after excessive acquisition. They try to perceive the play of consciousness. They meditate regularly. They utilise fullmoon days solstice days equinox days and new moon days for group meditation. They are taught spiritual side of Astrology to tune up to Time.

15. Qn. Do they follow Jesus Christ or Buddha or E.K. or C.V.V.?

Ans. They follow the path of Dharma which is demonstrated by Jesus Christ. Buddha. E.K, C.V.V., and host of others. The path is one. It is the path of Truth (Dharma). The initiates demonstrate the path to enable others to walk the path. The path leads us to the goal while the initiates are guiding posts. If you follow the path, you realise the truth. Where path is not given emphasis truth is not realised. Where the guide-posts are given more emphasis than the path more often there is no walking on the path.

16. Qn. Do you mean to say that guides are less important than the path?

Ans. I do not mean so. The guides and the path are equally important. Without the guides path is not clear. The guides are to show the path but not to show them- selves. The life of the guides are adequate message in this regard. Following the guide is following the path. If the teachings of the guides are not followed, if the demonstration of the guide is not followed and only their name and frame are worshipped, it gives the birth to religions and the path of truth gets hidden. Hence, one should learn to follow the teachings, more than other demonstrations. The teacher is happy when the taught (the pupils) learn to follow. But to-day most of the pupils worship but do not follow. The worship should one-day lead to following Dharma. Otherwise it be comes the joke of the Time.
