together with covering the basic needs of the home while the family is on the programme.
Besides the projects, which are especially centred on adults, there are projects intended for two particularly vulnerable groups: children and young people:
- A school support project for children from age 6 to 13 has been developed over the last 10 years;
- a new project has been added in 2012 called Young People in Action (Jovenes en Acción), including both academic and vocational aspects for young people from age 16 to 25. This project is being carried out jointly with another neighbour association.
In addition, BVA also offers excursions for youth in Barcelona during the month of July and participates in Solidarity at Christmas campaigns which include donating presents to the children who attend the programmes.
